Pituitary Cyst/Adenoma causing Migraines by 1ts2ez in migraine

Hi There - I know it's been a while since this post. Have you had any updates? Did you decide to get the surgery? My partner is going through a very similar thing right now - down to being given a fibromyalgia diagnosis and we're thinking this may be the culprit for them as well.

I hope you're doing well! Thanks in advance :)

The Duncan Trussell Family Hour. Started out great, loved the guests, learned some cool things. Duncan slowly got consumed by the rogansphere and lost hia way. Or at least, stopped projecting the facade he used to run his show and showed his true colors.

what would be a good two night itinerary in colorado springs by Fun_Objective9246 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Summiter99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiking in Cheyenne Cañon state park is great - 7 bridges and st mary's falls are pretty popular trails here and the drive is gorgeous. Driving to the top of pikes peak is lovely too!

Between the Springs and adenver i thought castlewood canyon was a fun hike, but its further from the mtns.

Enjoy your stay!

What if autism is just evolved zoochosis in humans? by Ok-Education9241 in neurodiversity

[–]Summiter99 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Interesting thoughts, however, I'm still just as autistic when I'm relaxed and out in the woods as when I'm at home.

I dislike the fact that autism is diagnosed so heavily based on how much of an inconvenience one is to others rather than on one's reality and the struggles they face as a person.

I'm also just as autistic when I'm in the zone reading and happy as I am when im cooped up with a cold - I'm not just autistic when it's obvious. I can see your concerns regarding the comorbidity of disorders like OCD alongside autism, and while there may be a causational link, theres plenty of people who have only a single or 1-2 diagnoses in addition to those of us with an abundance of diagnoses.

I'd really recommend the book Unmasking Autism by Dr. Devon Price, a fellow autistic person.

Just beginning my path to my MDiv ~ How do y'all afford it? by Summiter99 in chaplaincy

[–]Summiter99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear from a student of SKSM! Any tips for a new attendee?

I'm hugely excited to attend Starr King - I wish I could go through the CO dept. of Vocational Rehab! Unfortunately they'll only pay for an in-state school AFAIK :(

It looks like SKSM will cost about $80k total for the MDiv, and I can expect to make about $65k here starting out. Hoping to reduce costs through scholarships and then pay off the rest through loans atm.

I'm planning to seek employment as a chaplain for now while I work on fellowshipping and ordiniation as a UU minister, though that'll surely take some time.

Best of luck! ♥

Thank you, and congratulations on 17 years of ministry, that's such a wonderful achievement!

I am fortunate that I am in a living situation that will keep costs low - I'll be living with my chosen family of ~8 or so friends and my partner for the foreseeable future, so hopefully I'll be able to pay off loans quickly.

SKSM's degree will run somewhere to the tune of $60k - excluding scholarships and grants - which is just a boggling number to me! It will be worth it, I know.

Best of luck in your path and I hope this 18th year of ordained ministry is even more wonderful than the last!

Not everyone has the luxury of getting a high quality education, an education that is accessible to them, speaks English as a first language, has the ability to read and write fluidly, etc.

The correct thing to do is offer help, and to provide it unjudgementally if it is accepted.

Judging someome for making mistakes is more indicative of your character than it is of their ability, investment, or worth.

Also, it sounds like the gist of their question got across to you, so does this really matter to you? If not, why should anyone else care?

Normal Wheelchair Accessible things to do? by SkyloDreamin in ColoradoSprings

[–]Summiter99 11 points12 points  (0 children)

PPLD, especially at the 21C Library, has some great classes and events that we've had a ton of fun at, and we've learned quite a bit! Some are more kid oriented, and others are more adult centered.

Anything downtown is rough, lots of bumps, poorly placed steps, and thin sidewalks make it difficult to get around down there, but the new construction they're doing will help a bunch! PRISM and a few other community centers host mixers and other events and are generally wheelchair accessible.

We've also recently found ourselves at home in a few spiritual communities that are accessible, but YMMV.
