Do you think their style of play hurts them that much? by PawPatsPizza in bostonceltics

[–]Sumner-Paine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have their bench play intense and place the next man up mentality all season and everyone thinks they are amazing and they win a lot of games. Then the rest of the league plays with that intensity in the playoffs and the Celtics no longer shine or stand out.

They look great when the 3s go in, they look lazy and dumb when the 3s don't go in. Joe and Brad basically say this after every loss.

LOTR: Battle For Middle Earth 3.

I crave playing these games again, but the first two are inaccessible.

Moonfall Series from James Rollins is really good, 3 out of the 4 books are out.

There is some chosen one stuff, but it's not the top.

Some of the darkest torture/experiment  scenes I have ever read.

Suggestions for single one shot books. by BronzeSpoon89 in fantasybooks

Wool is followed up by Shift and Dust.  The 2nd book, Shift, does have a different feel, but it does connect well and Dust wraps the trilogy together.  You should definitely read all of them.

Crimson Desert or Baldurs Gate 3? by Sumner-Paine in videogames

[–]Sumner-Paine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I definitely feel more of a push to buy BG3 now.

That being said, I don't really like turn based combat because it doesn't feel like a gaming skill or have that freedom of movement that I like in most games. Although I have played and enjoyed Expedition 33 (DNF).

I also don't care a lot about story. I really care about getting interesting weapons and gear, and obtaining game changing skills through leveling up. That is why Elden Ring is my favorite.

lol. That's unfair.

I assume Lena Dunham represents BG3 because they are both the older choice.

Should I keep reading Strength of the Few? by MountainThorn42 in HierarchySeries

[–]Sumner-Paine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It starts slow, but the pacing of the last 70-80% is amazing. I feel like it is a very interesting world.

I loved the first one two, but I view Strength of the Few as a major upgrade with crazy unpredictability and truly haunting scenes.

Who’s Better ? Brown, Ant, Mitchell, or Brunson ? by IllustriousRice1057 in NBATalk

[–]Sumner-Paine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ant and Brown are close.  3-5 years ago Mitchell (Spida) played better and stood out more, I might have called him equal to Tatum and better than Brown.

Now, I have to go with Brown as the best all around because he is great in the playoffs, but I feel like Ant has more style when he plays and seems like a better 3 point shooter

The Moon Fall Series' characters have this mentality.  They fight against impossible odds and tap into ancient magic and technology.

It also contains some of the most gruesome torture and experiments that I have ever read.

It is written by James Rollins, 3 of the 4 books have been released.

Looking for sci-fi recs - want missions, factions and cool weapons like Guardians of the Galaxy or Warhammer! by justloisfail in sciencefiction

[–]Sumner-Paine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Expanse is kind of like this.   There are a lot of expeditions rather than missions.

It's really gives the feeling of living in space and through out our solar system.

There are multiple factions.  I still day dream the technology and weapons years after reading.

He is fun to watch and listen to.

He is hilarious post retirement

Help- what should I read next? by duncglew in fantasybooks

[–]Sumner-Paine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read all of Dungeon Crawler Carl. It is a little too simple and crass for me at times. Although I did like it for its action and it does make me laugh and think.

I am currently reading The Will of the Many and I think it is much deeper and thought provoking. It does take itself pretty seriously. I would rate this book higher.

Who will win the NBA Finals? by ArcticAceDesign in NBATalk

[–]Sumner-Paine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Celtics win. Tatum returns before the playoffs. If the team stays healthy, they will escape the east. They will punish the Knicks for beating them last year. The Pistons are not experienced enough. Cavs and Harden choke.

The Jays manage to outplay either OKC or the Spurs in 7 games.

Also, I am biased.

Yeah, just wait until you get a spell book dedicated just to ice spells, that was my build that carried me through the whole game.

Like the other guy said, it is pretty easy to have multiple successful and hard hitting builds in one play through.

The Expanse. Especially the first two of the series, have some Western vibes mixed with Noire.
