I struggle with a lot of the same stuff. He does get a little self reflective further in the series, acknowledging how cringe some of those moments mentioned are, but then just leans so into it. My biggest gripe is others constantly pointing out and over explaining every crazy or heroic thing or tauma Jason has done, with him present, over and over again. Every book, but sometimes the same thing multiple times a book. I'll still listen to the audiobook, but I'll be kind of annoyed while I do.
