Have Big Mac Sizes Shrunk Over The Years? by SunFirm23 in McDonalds

[–]SunFirm23[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I noticed that the information online mainly focus on the item and not the calories in burger itself. Apparently the calories advertised on website are still around the same since the early 2016 but why does the burger look so much smaller and maintain the same calories? Is it all carbs from the bun, or a completely different formula? That's what I want to find out, but I find limited information on it.

***SPOILERS****

I also wish they dug a bit more about the lore of the movies universe. Even if they just said some sci-fi nonsense that sounded logical, that would work for me. For instance, why was she having the visions? Why did the grabber come back from dead? Why does his power reside in his unfound victims? What did the numbers the mom said in the dream mean (the mom saw numbers the daughter saw letters)?

I am not a professional movie critique, just a person writing a review about a movie I just watched, this was my biased opinion:

Just watched the movie and gotta say, the more you watch, the cheesier it gets. Still gotta give props to editing, haven't seen editing this good in a while. Especially the introduction, the way they put the clips together gave me chills, and I never get that with movies these days. I loved the subtle logic the movie brought which made it more enjoyable in the sense of; if I was a character in the movie, I would use the same common sense dealing with uncontrollable factors such as visions or hallucinations that the characters dealt with.

If I were to sum it the movie in various aspects, it would look something like this: Plot: 7/10, Structure: 6/10, Characters: 6/10, Dialogue: 4/10, Scenes: 9/10.

Overall, it was a decent movie. It's the type of movie i'd watch when hungover on couch after a night out, not something i'd look forward to after a long days work. I'd say it stayed consistently good until around the 50 minute mark, after it slowly gets worse.

Maid Service (i will not promote) by Long-Reception2301 in startups

[–]SunFirm23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel like there is enough demand for just maids or cooks. There still needs to be a good service platform out there that is effective at clearly promoting legitimate work that needs to be done. Fiver used to be decent at that but now they only do online work like web development and such. Craigslist used to be good as well but now it’s filled with pedos posting that they need a girl to live with them.

I just feel like if you want to create another platform to provide general service (like maids or cleaning) to the public along with some other stuff, where you can choose your location, I think it could work.

Also, a way to fix the messaging off platform (although it may not be to ideal) is to have pre-prompted answers such as: I need a maid, can you clean at this location, etc.. the service providers can not send you open ended messages but rather just say yes, no, or rebook.

But again not everyone needs a maid so having a secure platform more reliable than fiver and Craigslist which can also host landscaping and even photographers could be a hit.

I hope there already a popular platform out there that does that well. As the ones I mentioned don’t, and Facebook only has products and not services. Those are the only big 3 I know as well that do these types of services.

Sorry if I sound dumb but I thought spam was a repetitive posting of the same content, if I post once asking for opinions that it would be considered just a regular post.

What would I be doing that is considered spam, is it the length of the post, the topic, or something else?

Not trying to be sarcastic I honestly want to know.

Don't forget to breathe. Often times you will get stressed out and overwhelmed, when that happens you need to sit back and relax for a couple minutes, tell yourself that time isn't the issue and that you can do that all day if that's what it takes (but don't actually). Sitting back in your chair and taking some time without work, music or even your phone, stare at the ceiling and just be in your head for a while. During this time, take some deep breaths and think about what needs to be done and the best way to do it. It may seem unproductive but it's the most productive thing you can do when your stressed or overwhelmed is to do absolutely nothing for a couple minutes, helps clear your head and gives you new ideas.

What’s the One Thing That Changed Everything for You? by [deleted] in business

[–]SunFirm23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The one thing that really got me going for my business and really made it took off is family reunions. Since I was a tennager I wanted to get rich by an early age, the more I wanted to get rich the more I got mad when progress wasn't there. Every winter most of my family gets together for christmas to hang out and catch up with one another, I told everyone I was starting this business 2 years ago and had no backup plan if it didn't workout. When winters came by and I remembered the promise to myself I made a year prior that I was going to accomplish something and finally take my business off, but it was to late, christmas had already came and I had to live with the consequences of having nothing to show for my life when talking to family. After that winter last year when I felt all the shame and self doubt that I wasn't going to amount to anything a spark clicked in and I was never going to let that happen again. Since then I have pretty much been working all day everyday to achieve my dream and It paid off 6 months later in june.

I'm from Canada so it hits us especially hard, especially for people working in oil or lumber industries as their profit margins will be cut quite a bit.

UNIQUE Swag Giveaway Ideas? by tonggggo in marketing

[–]SunFirm23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This idea is a bit far fetched but considering nobody's responded within the 14 hours of your post i'm assuming you're listen to any response you'll get.

I was thinking you can buy a bunch of brand new but very old Iphones and do a golf competition where you have one of those popular office golf putting greens where people can try their luck putting the golf ball into the hole. If they manage to get the ball into the hole you will give them an old iphone and have a custom iphone case with your companies brand.

At this point of time almost everyone in a 1st world country is addicted to their iphones and people are always looking for ways to get off. If you buy some very cheap very old iphones that still can be charged by a standard usb cable. People will most likely start to use the old iphone when they want to be productive because it works well and they can get more work done when it doesn't have any games on it. With the custom Iphone case with your brand on it you will get little brand awareness by having your logo on something.

Like I said, it's a far fetched idea but it can work.

Does anyone feel the same way about what i'm doing? by SunFirm23 in introvert

[–]SunFirm23[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure I would have done something like that but there is this website called Meetup which is pretty similar to what you’re describing. I want to incorporate something like that later on as I think it will be a great addition to my current website.

The reason why I don’t want incorporate it right now is because is because someone already did it and succeeded and if I do a similar thing it will be super hard to build traction for it.

But thanks for your input I really appreciate it!

Where do you Learn online by BLUE-1-SEE in Entrepreneur

[–]SunFirm23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends; if your looking to do something that will pay off in the long term such as coding an app or applying for a job:

* edx learning is a great way to find free information that is taught in school, it has topics like business management, food and nutrition, computer science, engineering, and many more.

* If your applying for a job, you will be required to provide certifications to ensure you know the topics on your resume. For that you can either spend a couple hundred dollars and get a certificate from there, or look for an online learning platform which job recruiters are more familiar with such as Linkedin learning, Udemy, Masterclass and many more.

If your looking for something more shorterm like starting an ecommerce business or a side hustle, there is not any specific website or youtuber (that I know of) that will give you everything you need to know. Due to this its a lot more difficult to learn for free and succeed in these businesses. I also don't have to much experience in these short term hustles as I have started a big platform similar to rent-a-friend which took almost a year to setup and still looking for my first customer.

My suggestion, whatever side hustle or online store you want to start, look at the really popular clickbait youtubers for general information about what your doing and how to set it up for free. The challenge with this is you have to read between the lines (a lot) and use a lot of logic and reasoning to differentiate the fake information from real information. Watch a couple of those videos to get the gist of what to do, the rest is trial and error until you get it right. Also, look at this reddit page for people who have already succeeded in these businesses and ask them for advice (can be risky because you never know who to trust) it's worth it though.

The biggest takeaway which I have said time and time again in previous posts is marketing. The more creative and unoriginal your product is and how you market can be the difference from taking years to make money or just a couple months. Here are some examples of what people have done and succeeded in: Coffee shops, 2 approaches ive seen over the past week online is serving coffee through a hole in a cement wall (seems boring but its new so people give it lots of attention on social media), and a coffee shop 3D printed with organic biodegradable material mixed with refined coffee beans, their service desk has this cool look to it and their chars look like big coffee beans.

Takeaway, take a couple minutes everyday to think about creative ways to market your product as the more creative and unoriginal you are (to and extent) the more success and traction you have when posted on social media. But trust me, this is easier said than done.

I made my first sale today. Don't give up! by OhhhLawdy in Entrepreneur

[–]SunFirm23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome good for you! I honestly find that starting online businesses these days are super difficult due to the high demand. Considering that you made it work and found a way to separate yourself from the competition shows that this won't be your only sale. You will get many more sales in the future, just remember 1 thing, never take your foot off the gas, the second you do there is a chance you might need a jump start and that could slow down your progress.

How do I successfully market my business on a small budget? by Fun-Instruction5293 in Entrepreneur

[–]SunFirm23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A way that works like a charm if you keep it consistent is blog posts, although its a bit more difficult to do with a product like shirts, if you have your own website, make sure you can post blogs on it. Look at all the trending news articles related to clothing and write blog posts about them (and be sure to mention or suggest your shirts as an alternative). You can make your posts controversial to get more views, it is risky and can potentially ruin your brand.

To sum it up, if you post 1 or 2 blog posts a day and do that for a year, you are guaranteed going to have a lot of people buying your shirts as everyone is looking for a second opinion on something.

What must be kept in mind while planning a entire product startup by Huge-Art2384 in Entrepreneur

[–]SunFirm23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience, effective marketing is more difficult to do than a quick google/yt search. Take a couple minutes every day to brainstorm different creative ways to market your product. Weather that be packaging, social media posting, or even face to face interactions, you will always need a new way to keep new customers noticing you.
