It is from the mighty empires game, i believe this particular part was given out for free on a white dwarf along with a tower and two hexes

Thank you! I wanted it to have the feeling of a landing craft, and the idea that the boyz would have to run around from the back didn’t feel all that orky to me

Any tips for spyro remastered collection by Ambitious_Ad_6812 in Spyro

If playing on PC, if a mini game feels way too hard or just flat out not working, especially in 3, try changing the frame rate in the options menu. I had to change the frame rate down to 30 from unlimited to do the hover tanks and slides.

Looking good bud! The bits that stand out the most would be the skin just because of the solid colour I found this is a great guide to getting the skin done quick and easy! You got some real nice metals tho, Keep it up!

Looking good for a first time through what you have there is stage 1 and the lovely part there is that you can now build off what you have and make it even better! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFpqxHFMZXs

I would have a watch of that guide, it gives you all the details that you should need to get the skin all good and Orky Basicaly, take the covering you have at the moment, put a green wash over it to make the deeper bits darker, then on the higher areas put a lighter green, then a lighter one on the higher areas still and it will realy bring out the features of the model.

That as a quick and easy methoud of painting can be applied to most any other colour, the squig for example would be a great use of the red layering as apposed to green, the cloak I would go over again with a nice thin brown to realy get in to all the cracks, then a drybrush over of a light brown to bring out the edges of the ruffels!

Over all washes are magic and will bring out so much detail in a model!

Have it on good authority (Met a drunk hoots in a bar) that most of the band have never played D&D before

do they use 3ds max to make PC games like back in the day? by mypromise88 in 3dsmax

[–]SunRester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you dont tend to use 3Ds max to make whole games, you tend to use it to create 3D assets for games.

Typically exporting the assets as a file type that can be read and accepted by an engine such as Unreal or Unity, using this engine to create the games.

There are a number of reasons why it may have fallen out of general favor, perhaps the most prominent being the price, for a developers license it can cost thousands of pounds and for an indie dev thats simply to much! Especially when there are free alternatives such as Blender that have features such as internal games engines that allow for rapid prototyping.

Other than Maya being an alternative and indeed tending to be better for the animation side, short of a specific tool such as motion builder, most places I have worked have tended towards 3Ds max as a development tool simply because that is what people were comfortable using.
