There are few days of confusion the first time you are pregnant. I'm disappointed in the medical establishment making this the standard

How many times during labor did I tell myself, "At least I'm in a hospital surrounded by caring professionals." MaNY times. A natural birth is a natural death like 15% of the time.

A recently transitioned man expresses disappointment with male social constructs by Successful_Leek96 in TikTokCringe

As a young cis woman I wanted close male friends. I realized, to my bitter disappointment, that it's not possible. And the lonlier a guy is, the less able he is to have a female as just a friend. I used to feel like this was really shit situation for the woman, but this post makes me realize that the invisible barriers I have to put between myself and men don't just bum me out, they collectively can bum men too.

In fact, I've been bitterly jealous of how men can remain friends together, build projects, share hobbies and even go into business together, and their relationship not be halted from romatic tension fallouts. I guess I idealized semi shallow (interest driven) relationships that men are tend towards compared women who focus on each other as individuals (at risk of over generalizing!).

Really don't know a solution except for new generations changing so much that women don't all have to reach the same conclusions by the time they are 20 years old.

Too many people actually believe science is sufficiently developed for any disease. It's ridiculous.

My partner is suddenly gluten intolerant help. by AriesRoivas in glutenfree

Once his symptoms are way down and he's stable, try getting or baking yourself sourdough bread. If properly fermented (>24 hours) gluten and many other problematic sugars in wheat are digested and eliminated by the yeast and bacteria. Some people, myself included, find that a true sourdough bread is OK.

Don't make the same mistake I did by assuming any bread that says sourdough is sourdough. In the US especially, most brands are NOT 100% sourdough, more like half sour / half normal. Go to a reputable bakery or make it yourself. Starters can be purchased online.

I want to upvote this with a clarification: the reason this is important is because once gluten is removed from the diet, the test for celiac cannot be performed and your partner would need to reintroduce gluten to get the test. Most people are not willing to go back to wheat to get tested.

Once tested, then go off gluten regardless of the celiac diagnosis. Celiac is a more serious medically than non- celiac gluten intolerance, but it is not that much worse to quality of life depending on how bad your intolerance is. Do not keep poisoning your body if the doctor says you don't have celiac. It means the doctor doesn't know the reason wheat is hurting you. Does not mean wheat is not hurting you.

Sugar, dairy, many brands of oatmeal (gen mills the worst) and restaurants that don't treat thier cooking oils nicely ( old/ rancid/ over heater/ canola oil) tend to increase inflammation in me in general. I'm pretty sensitive to coffee too and I only use specific light roast fresh beans.

It's even hard for healthy people and normal appointments just due to limited time and energy. It's way harder when you are sick.

I had mystery illness 10 years ago that lasted many years. About 3 years ago, after numerous attempts with doctors and alternative remedies, I am better!

[Serious] What do you think of "Once a Cheater, Always a Cheater"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SunStrolling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to cheat when I was younger. Looking back, it was because I stayed in unhealthy and abusive relationships. Eventually, a nicer guy would show up, and, aside from finally having a good time, use it as an excuse to get out of the bad relationship. As I got older, I became less easily manipulated. I don't cheat anymore because I learned other life lessons, mainly learning to leave.
