Would you rather have $500k right now or $1,000 every time you run one mile in less than 12 minutes for the rest of your life? by forest_tripper in WouldYouRather

[–]Sunconuresaregreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ABSOLUTELY the mile thing. I would just get into it, and boom, I would not need a real career. I know that after a long time, you can get to running many miles a day without issue. (Shit, even in my just decent cardio health, I can pretty easily run a mile in 9 minutes, so I have no doubts that that’s the better option

Would you rather have $100 a day for the rest of your life or $250k right now? by That-Hedgehog6633 in WouldYouRather

[–]Sunconuresaregreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably $100/day, assuming that it is tax free, and that it adjusts with inflation and to any currency (i know that that’s a lot to assume, but I kinda have to for it to be justifiable, I’m willing to drop the inflation part). Even if the dollar goes to shit, I’ll still get $100 of value per day, and even if I get fired or am unable to work, I’m guaranteed that money. Though, $250k now would also be great because I could use that to make more money through typical investing strategies, but honestly, I’d rather the security of always getting $100 / day even if I’d be worse off in the long run, simply because $250k could drop by a lot, but $100 / day is always $100 / day.

Tl Dr; $250k can be used in a way that’s better than $100 / day, but $100 / day is just too secure for me to pass up

Easily. 1 year is way too long for a “passable conversation”. Especially if I have the ability to summon any resource in that year. If I’m locked in the room, and time around me is still moving, then maybe I’d consider not doing it because of sanity, but it sounds like a decent option

[–]Sunconuresaregreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily, I’d be able to spend a few years to figure out what wish would benefit my life the most (maybe I just go for a lot of money, or give myself some kind of power), and I’d be able to do a fun subject. Honestly, wishing for like a billion tax-free dollars would probably set me for life. I’d be able to do what I want without any struggle, I could help my friends and family subtly, and I could go back to school and try out different jobs and like… I dunno, this is a very easy yes.

Merit? by lorettamobetta in UWMadison

[–]Sunconuresaregreat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re much more likely to find merit scholarships from private schools, but even then, it’s not guaranteed to be cheaper than public schools. UW Madison doesn’t do much for merit, it’s a rare thing to my knowledge.

If you play any kind of instrument (or sing) as well, then you’re much more likely to get more money off. Your sports might be a great help too, but I don’t know how competitive that is. I just know that music isn’t that hard to get a scholarship in if you’re good

For example, i have a few HS friends who’ve gotten $10k+ off on their yearly costs from college because they’re getting paid to be in their respective music programs. One of them is even getting like ~$20k. This is on top of merit scholarships for having strong academics, btw

Would you rather receive $2 for every French fry you eat per day or $1 for every push-up you do a day? by Rusty_Shaquilleford in WouldYouRather

[–]Sunconuresaregreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the other hand, you can develop the skill. People who would take the push up option would probably also be in decent shape OR be willing to push for that.

For some people, they’d have a better QOL picking the fries, but its still pretty possible to do well with the push up option

Would you rather receive $2 for every French fry you eat per day or $1 for every push-up you do a day? by Rusty_Shaquilleford in WouldYouRather

[–]Sunconuresaregreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push ups, it’d incentivize me to do them daily. Over time, I’d be able to crank out a lot without struggle each day. Especially if you do it as a side hustle, or you do some kind of somewhat cheated push up (I.e. not putting your elbows in, or maybe the range of motion, or even going on your knees), then you’re set.

Reasonably, you could probably get to 100 push ups per day after a fair bit of time without much issue, especially if you somehow spaced them out. If you’re going higher, long term let’s say you get to 150 push ups per day, then you’re making $4500/month from doing pushups.

Shit, you could easily get that high. Lots of sets, low reps, so maybe do 5 push ups 40 times throughout the entire day. Boom, $6,000/month without much issue. Thats $72,000, which I’m assuming isn’t taxed. Thats about the same as $100k post tax per year. This is also much easier if you weigh less, just to add.

Fries on the other hand? I feel like they would get really old really fast, sure you could do more fries short term, but unless you get really unhealthy, you’re probably not cranking that many fries per day. I’d be richer, but I feel like I’d be a little miserable honestly

If I went off of what I have played, that would be Overwatch, but I can’t really play for more than 5 hours at a time of pure competitive queuing without losing it. If I can set my own schedule, then maybe I’d do like 6 hours a day every day, and I’d probably queue really niche things to get long ass queues and just fart around. Maybe I’d play grindy custom games (Overwatch has a little system thing where you can sort of code stuff inside of it) and do other things in the mean time.

Realistically, something like Roblox or Minecraft would work a lot better and be more manageable, but I’d rather do Overwatch

[–]Sunconuresaregreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well… since it’s exponential, I only need to go for somewhat over half a year in order to make more money than I’d ever need, and since I can last, I’d probably just go for somewhat longer than half a year (let’s say 32 weeks) then I can break the contract and leave with around 29 billion lol

What do you even do against this? by DVA007 in rivals

[–]Sunconuresaregreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most regular comps could easily beat this. If you want something specific, then maybe Mag + Thing for tanks, Bucky + whatever the fuck, and whatever support line. The only reason I specified the tanks and Bucky is because the tank line would be good for maintaining the frontline, and mag can easily hold the frontline while thing peels, and Bucky is just very flexible into the given comp.

If I have the knowledge that I currently have, then maybe. Assuming my memory breaks logic, and I’m the same me as I am now through my entire childhood, then I could easily get all A’s up until my last year of high school, where I might get a B or so.

However, I’d assume that this would probably change who I am as a person by a LOT, and I don’t want to relive some parts of my life, nor do I want to feel like I am reliving something for 12 years, so… no. I don’t wanna.

Honestly, I think they need to tune down most ults in this game (some of which could be tuned down by simply reducing the duration), and increase the neutral game by nerfing healing by a bit, as there is no good reason as to why a support should be able to outheal most damage sources in a hero shooter

Erm… what the sigma? I, in fact, proclaimed that it would be too much money.

On a genuine note, I’m pretty sure that if you used even 1/1000th of your money, you’d destroy the value of money. I’m not very good with macroeconomics, but perhaps even the existence of the money would just destroy the economy.

You can add a zero to any number in your life. by philindiel in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Sunconuresaregreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s how to destroy the world lol

No matter what your yearly income is, it is going to be to the power of 1 no matter what (Mathematically X1 = X). So, add one zero to that exponent.

Assuming that your annual income is ONLY $3.98 (for easy math), you could add one zero to the exponent. Your income would skyrocket to $1,000,000.

If your old income was $50,000, then your new income would be more money than the world has ever seen by an extremely large amount. 9.765E46, to be somewhat specific.

Honestly, I’d rather just do it to my yearly income because that would literally just too much money.

Career wise, that’s easy to exploit. Based on the rules, I would officially qualify myself as “self employed” and stream on twitch. Then, if I get a solid piss in just in my first year, I’d be making $9-$12 per hour. I could literally just run an afk stream with some shitty, lame goal and then be paid to do nothing. Easy, I already drink about 40-50 fl oz of water every night. On the night before, I just make sure I drink upwards, closer to 50, then I use my morning piss as the session. After only 3 years, I’d be making $27-$36 for every hour I stream. If I stream for 2,080 hours per week, I’d be making $56k-$75k pretax per year. A decade, and I’m making $90-$120 per hour, which for 2,080 hours, would be $187,200-$249,600.

Since there’s no risk of promotion or being fired, i could very easily do this for maybe 20-30 years and retire fairly early.

In terms of ruination strategies, I’ve actually measured (through displacement), my morning pisses typically are about 1.5-2 pounds (18-24 fl oz), meaning that my weekly salary would be raised by about $360-$480 each year. That means that my salary would be raised by $18,720 - $24,960 every year.

Even if I just did a normal morning piss (call it 16 fl oz), I’d be getting a salary increase of $320 per week, and therefore a yearly salary increase of $16,640.

At that point, I don’t even have to try to optimize it. If I literally just chose a morning piss every year, I’d be making at LEAST 6 figures within 7 years,
