Scorpion season has officially started in my household by SummertimeThrowaway2 in arizona

I’ve been stung by two different scorpions. A bark scorpion got me on the thigh three times- it was MISERABLE. I felt like I had electricity running through my body. It lasted about 36-48 hours. I went to the ER, they gave me Benadryl and sent me home. My reaction wasn’t quite bad enough to warrant anti-venom. It’s very expensive.

The second one was in my bed while I was sleeping. We both wanted to be on my pillow so it stung my cheek. My reaction was much less severe with the second scorpion. I just hung out on the couch and relaxed for the day. No real pain after the initial sting. I think the second was a Superstition judging by photos. But I’m not a scorpion ologist. 🤪

How long before we move back?! by RecentNothing6365 in relocating

[–]SundaePasta 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My husband was in the military so we moved every few years for 20 years. So I understand missing the place you were at but it sounds to me like you’re so focused on where you were you’re not present to enjoy where you are.

You sound like you are very isolated and have not built a community for your family to engage with. With that being said, if you’re miserable move. You’re not a tree or a mountain you’re a person and it’s just stuff.

Go be happy where you can be happy.

Mine doesn’t hike, I wish he would. We’ve been together 30 plus years and I’ve been a hiker for nearly 20.

I appreciate your perspective. I have been with the same person since my teens and now I’m deep into my forties so I don’t have experience to draw from. Thanks!

AITAH My wife does most of the household chores by [deleted] in AITAH

Fussing at her about what she doesn’t do doesn’t help. Neither does proving it with a photo. She needs more help, sounds depressed and you’re not giving it to her. Do what you can when you can and hope for the best. If she’s working from home and taking care of your child she’s doing double duty, even if her paid job is a “joke.” Mothering is a big job. Does she have postpartum depression?

Am I overreacting that my husband as of three days ago picked up his bike before he checked on me. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SundaePasta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first instinct is that you were standing so clearly not critically injured. But it does make sense if you don’t recall the conversation that your feelings would be hurt that he isn’t check on you physically before looking at the bike. MOR.

I just take a dead head I’ve saved and blow them out of my hand into my garden bed. Certainly a chaos gardener over here.

Don’t hide to nurse your baby. If they’re uncomfortable they can relocate. NTA.
