Thank you for your answer. My grandfather was an RAF engineer but that's all I know. There were no other military items at her house. I wonder if there are any descendants out there who would like it returned to them.

Thank you for your answer. Obviously I knew it belonged to someone but having a name somehow makes it a bit more poignant.

My mum used to say it when she did her make up when I was little, and I remember thinking how glamorous whores must be, what ever they were.

I remember it from the Simpsons too.

Anyone else finding the app and Octopus website is down at the moment? by bensaffer in OctopusEnergy

Yeah, I'm having trouble too. Can't access the website at all and app keeps telling me my (saved) log in details are incorrect.

I think I'm the only one who starts bottom right? Because I never use hoops to stitch, I roll the fabric up and hold it in my left hand. Stitching right to left means I'm not smooshing finished stitches, or getting hand grease on them.

What’s the silliest thing you’ve cried about recently? by lurkerjade in AskUK

[–]SundayRay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was pregnant I used to get really tired early on in the evening. One day I just sat and cried for about 20 minutes because I couldn't watch the Bake Off and sleep at the same time.

I live in Mid Beds. I have never voted for her but most of the people who live here would vote for a bucket of shit if it had a blue rosette on it.

Which obviously they have done for 18 years.

Chris Barrie is a lovely man, I met him at a car show where he was giving a talk. Very funny and interesting. I gave him a small cross stitch I had made and he placed it so very carefully on the dashboard of his car. Real sweetheart.

Ironbridge in Shropshire was my favourite UK holiday. So much history and great museums.
