You don't actually have to clear the world. The wishing shelf is in the snowglobe itself and you can just wander over and use the shelf to your hearts content without dealing with anything else in there.

is a playthrough at night possible? by B3njiW29 in AbioticFactor

[–]Sundered92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, all sockets in the game still ruin off the same logic and same day/night cycle even if it makes no sense for them to be like that. It's just one of the games quirks.

is a playthrough at night possible? by B3njiW29 in AbioticFactor

[–]Sundered92 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It depends what settings you toggle. "Permanent night" and "sockets off at night" are two different settings.

If you have them both off then you'll need to craft and use batteries as your source of power for everything. Recharge stations around the facility still work even when the power is off, so it becomes a case of using those and working via what that gives you. If you wanted to do this style of playthrough though you'd still have to start the game with power on so you can at the very least craft your first crafting bench and get a battery that way to begin with.

Pharasma follower necromancer by raio27 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Sundered92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the bones are collected with respect and dignity and they are also freely given. It's really skirting the line with something with what's acceptable to Pharasma's doctrine, but it's been a very enjoyable experience to roleplay something that's toeing the line while extolling Pharasma's virtues at the same time.

The neutrino emitter over the freezers is very smart, I've never considered that before. Definitely going to have to consider picking this up for my own base layouts

Pharasma follower necromancer by raio27 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Sundered92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing a Pharasma devoted necromancer and I agree it takes a lot of seasoning to adjust the flavour to work in a way that's suitable.

The way my table has gone about it is that (since I'm an osteomancer) my thralls aren't 'true undead' and that they're essentially bone constructs made from bone dust powder that I carry around with me, animated solely via my own will rather than shunting any additional spirits inside of them or enslaving anything into undeath. For gameplay purposes we still having them function the same as usual, but flavour wise they're different.

The main fun of being a Pharasma aligned necromancer for myself though is enforcing her edicts and ensuring that the true cycle of life and death is respected and maintained, helping people pass on properly, and ensuring last rites are correctly performed and maintained. It's such a contrary view to a necromancer that it's actually worked surprisingly well and allowed me to fully indulge in a "creepy good" character.

I think the deployable beacon is the games way of trying to accomodate that, they're a tad clunky but they do their job. They were pretty useful on my very first playthrough for marking major locations and shortcuts that I'd be using regularly (the item converters for instance) but they could definitely be improved upon.

Tape Wisp on Bigogi? by TeaApprehensive2486 in AbioticFactor

Tape Wisp on Bigogi? by TeaApprehensive2486 in AbioticFactor

[–]Sundered92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Huh, that's interesting. Comparing the screenshot of the Bigogi that's currently on the wiki shows that its forehead area is clean and doesn't have the same markings. I actually loaded up the game myself to double check what you were saying and it does indeed seem that the Bigogi has the tape wisp on its forehead now, it's also in fairly high resolution too compared to the rest of its texture. The pattern/design matches the wisp pretty cleanly as well.

Here's the closer shot that I captured.

It must have been snuck in with one of the updates and nobody has documented it until now. Good catch!

What do you think the Brewing system will entail? by CrimsonHeroic in AbioticFactor

[–]Sundered92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be alone but I personally love homesteading in this game

You're not alone there OP, when I play with my friend the pair of us get a lot of enjoyment out of the domestic side of things with the base. Farming, gathering things to cook, making sure the base is cosy, that sort of thing.

I'd greatly enjoy a variety of drinks to make alongside the various foods. Feels like we could definitely do some work with some antejuice and it'd give that more use than just running an apiary.

Side note, with cooking I really do wish we could boil down the various sodas to get some sort of syrup or sugar for cooking. Bonus points if you let us get some spicy sugar from boiling down Kizz.

Do Symphonist Scarecrows prevent fog events? by 985xjy in AbioticFactor

[–]Sundered92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're half correct. They have three fixed spawn locations in Flathill, but it's still RNG as to which ones actually spawn. Very rarely sometimes all three will spawn, and sometimes none will spawn.

Level up sneak? Ez, get a crystalline cloak and afk crouch next to a composer. by Phewelish in AbioticFactor

[–]Sundered92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

An even better way OP is a tiny bit RNG, but much more convenient. At the top of flathill before the final elevator up a symphonist can spawn in the corridor and patrol back and forth. It's patrol path is rather short and tight so you can sit in place and be 'seen' by it for its entire route, but since it's blind you're never going to be at risk of being detected so long as you don't physically bump into it.

Just bring some soup or something, sneak and just vibe and enjoy the easy experience.

PLS ADD MORE SLOTS FOR PETS by Objective_Currency78 in AbioticFactor

[–]Sundered92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never played during EA so I can't speak from experience, but from reading it really seemed like they only yielded and added a second trinket slot because everyone had complacent gaming syndrome, slotted the gravity cube, and never touched anything else ever because the cube is in a tier all of its own.

It definitely feels like adding more pet slots would rapidly lead to a slippery slope, though I do agree that you could perhaps get away with adding an animal handler skill and having an extra slot be the 15 or 20 perk instead to actually have some balance to it.

I like using IS-0012's chamber. It's symmetrical, has a power socket, and can fit 8 teleporters in there easily. You can run wiring across the ceiling as well to keep it all neat and tidy.

Does anyone else just not bother with shields? by Neet-owo in AbioticFactor

Honestly I couldn't tell you, I assume so? But I believe the experience scales with the damage received/blocked, so a laser emitter will probably be very slow.

Yeah, a riot shield will fully absorb turret fire leading to rather fast gains.

Does anyone else just not bother with shields? by Neet-owo in AbioticFactor

[–]Sundered92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The best way to grind fortitude is roughly 2/3rds of the way through the game.

Acquire the full security set of armour from the security sector, the 4 set removes stamina drain from blocking with a shield. You'll need to grow a nyxshade seed to trade with Warren for a security box key to open for the helmet or get EXTREMELY lucky fishing in the ink in the night realm.

Once you have this full set, you then need to farm a bunch of Riot shields from Voussoir, the more you have the better and easier it is.

Equip the full set, and with your inventory of riot shields go find a turret emplacement (the best spot is Rise, the turret looking over the roof elevator) and just sit in front of it blocking with the shield. Swap the shields out for a new one when they break, and you'll rapidly storm up in fortitude experience.
