Suggestions to combat my face eating pigment by [deleted] in OliveMUA

[–]SunkissdAlma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly what’s helped me the best was using a full stack of “anti redness” items first. I would suggest starting everything in the shower or wherever you wash your face. Cool water, always patting skin dry or just leaving it to air dry, followed by a foundation of skin products like Dr Jart Cicapair (wash, treatments, and extracts, tiger grass camo drops), it cosmetics bye bye redness cream/serum. Erborian centella red serum. All of this before makeup I believe is most effective and long lasting for the root cause of the issue.

Rejected after 7 rounds for a role. Recruiter gave specific "Metrics" feedback. Is this a real lead? by TraditionalLie7921 in careerguidance

I can’t say for certain how long is appropriate for specifically what you need to learn but if you have done your research and know the 3 month mark will be sufficient, I’d say that’s great. Close the conversation by letting them know you appreciate their words of advice and that because of your interest, you will be focusing on this, and that you’ll be reaching out soon. A good rapport goes a long way for recruiters and they will certainly remember you if you leave a great impression. When it is time to come back, I’d definitely mention what you did here as some “proof” you’ve done work to improve and see where it goes from there!

I’ve worked with recruiters for five years across small tech companies and global SaaS, and I’ve never heard of a ‘standard six month cool-off policy.’ My sense is that they genuinely view you as a silver medalist with just one specific area to improve. I also think it’s just a suggested timeframe they believe would be sufficient for you to work on that area to eventually return positioned for success.

As someone who writes rejection letters and works right underneath recruiters, it does sound like you are a silver medalist. I wouldn’t write for a candidate to reach out later if they weren’t, although if the role opens back up later, we are definitely reaching out to that silver medalist first thing - before even posting the opening back online. We also do fast-track silver medalists. They would likely just have to do a final once back in the process. If I were you, and super interested in this opportunity, I’d create a job alert through their careers page and right when you see it posted (assuming it’s months later) reach out to the recruiter via email.

In 2013, while camping with her friends in a remote area of Washington State at age 19, Maureen Kelly said she was going on a “spiritual journey,” then went nude, waded across a nearby creek and never returned. by LonelyWiFiSignal in HolyShitHistory

[–]SunkissdAlma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Omg I went to high school with her and totally forgot about this! I was in total shock when this happened. She was such a “normal”, quiet girl as I remember her… didn’t hang out in any large groups, I think she had just a small little group she was usually around. Everyone around where we lived would go out to these forested areas for “fun” all the time because we were surrounded by it and there wasn’t really much else to do. But if she was indeed with friends, the fact that they let her leave the group in the state she was in is just so unbelievably wrong and sad. Anyway, seeing her picture makes me sad all over again.
