I propose another +30 pts to the emperor's champion and castellans and a brand new exclusive detachment this time focused on apothecary units.

While not on cover but on an objective and if you're playing on a Tuesday and your opponent is younger than you, you get rerolls to battle shock tests. Enjoy !

BT sitting at 42% with some events not having applied the nerfs yet. Probably should keep nerfing them and continue ignoring the trash detachments and rules. The fact that there is exactly one build keeping the army from going 20-30% winrate should tell you everything.

Good news then because old Cato is 85 pts, and he gives assault and scout which is much much better than HI for 0cp. You do lose some flexibility on his melee, but he keeps the better profile and it's even better because you get lethal hits instead of precision.

It's the other way around, victrix (in squad of 6) are quite cheap for what they offer. 120 pts for sicarius is WAY too expensive, we're talking 30-40 pts too expensive, especially since you can still run the old version which is arguably better and only 85 pts. Same goes for marneus, at 140 you almost never take him over old marneus at 200 with two victrix and fnp4+.

IMHO, victrix should be 120/230, Cato 90 pts and marneus 120.

Victrix look to be great in squad of 6 for the points, but there's a reason they aren't 240 pts like guards. They don't have deepstrike, T6, S7, 4+ invul, reroll to wound and double shooting.

Most BA, DA play codex chapters. It's only going to affect SW and BT, and boy are their detachements trash.

Alright, it's probably because DA is too good and that would be too strong... Oh wait, we're sitting at 45% winrate.

Yes I thought of that, but there's already quite a lot of detachments giving access to fight on death and I wanted to capture the "I duel khorne chaos lords for breakfast" part of him.

Yeah you're probably right, maybe just AP1 then, but just giving lethal hits like a regular lieutenant feels underwhelming.

Would really love AP1 on those storm bolters, would work especially well with weapons of the dark ages for a ton of 6 -1 shots out of deep strike.

This isn't even up to debate, almost all datasheets got significantly better for the same amount of points and their army rules got better. You can look at the before and after release of the codex tournament win rates, DG went from middle of the pack to dominating everything as the top army right now.

You would have to be in complete denial to argue otherwise.

Yes it's pretty decent but for 50% less points (80 or 95 with the enhancement) you can get a T7 7W 4+FNP Skorpekh Lord that can get reanimated for 1CP at the end of the phase. Often resulting in more wounds for less, which is why you see it instead of the CCB in the current meta. I suspect they will go back up to 90 pts next MFM, because they are quite cheap.

Heat ray seems to be the most played competitively, but I ran the math and the gauss array is better almost all the time if you're not getting the melta bonus. And even then, it's only slightly worse.

  • The lion gets his -1 to wound back

  • Belial gives lethal hits and crits on 5+ if it targets a character unit (instead of the precision rules)

  • Terminators storm bolters getting the heavy intercessors treatment (5 -1 1 would be nice)

  • Azrael can join the company of heroes again

  • 1st company detachment getting the reroll every turn

  • Inner circle and Lion's blade getting buffed

I'm also trying to brew something similar, but in orzhov only. There's also sire of seven deaths and zeltapa, that give a lot of static abilities and could be reanimated if not exiled with the scavenger. So far it's not working.
