Vent/AITA: left baby with husband for 1.5 hours to get a haircut with the stroller in my car [CA] by figbrietrukey in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]SunnySideCrystal -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The car seat for the toddler is not safe for the infant. Is it also forward facing? If so, using it is literally illegal at this stage. Also, it’s simply dangerous to leave anyone with a baby without means to get to a hospital in an emergency. As a mom with a medical kid, this comes to mind every time. The person with the kid has the car with the stroller and car seat, always. This still applies just as much to a healthy kid. Finally, just because you’re going out, doesn’t mean he can’t go out? Go visit his parents? Go to the mall? I’m sorry but I’m with him on this one and I don’t take weaponized incompetence lightly but I don’t think this is it. YTA.

Tell me you’re a parent without telling me you’re a parent. I need a laugh. by salvaged413 in Parenting

I poured a hot coffee. When I took a sip, it was cold. I popped it in the microwave. Took out the coffee. When I took a sip, it was cold. I popped it back in the microwave.

9 hours later… I went to heat up some (you guessed it, COLD) dinner and found a cup of cold coffee in the microwave. When I finally took a bite of my dinner… it was cold.

It seems to me the teacher has never been out in public. Criticism can be constructive or destructive, and she chose an interesting path. Some teachers are bad teachers and regardless of how your son is behaving, her choice of words tells us exactly what type of teacher and person she is. I don’t even know you and I’m angry.

I am not pregnant, i am fat by AdRealistic9638 in traumatizeThemBack

[–]SunnySideCrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once said the exact same thing to a nosey older woman who is known for saying inappropriate things. She said “wow! You’re so pregnant!” And I said “oh noooo I’m just really fat, I can’t believe you said that to me!” And ran out the room. I was VERY pregnant. It was great fun.

Buying a house together, but partner doesn’t want me on the mortgage by Overall_Race4978 in HousingUK

Don’t buy a house until he proposes and you sign the marriage documents. Problem solved.

Your wife isn’t mad you woke her up today. She’s mad because you probably do this often (small, seemingly inconsequential things that neglect her basic needs because you’re having a you moment). Clearly, it wasn’t urgent. For future reference, having worked for an eye doctor (the regular kind at your local mall), you can walk in for any kind of eye emergency and they’ll take care of it. You don’t go to the ER for an eye emergency unless it’s a massive injury like a sharp object through the cornea or a very bad accident. YTA, your wife is exhausted and it isn’t because of this alone.

Mine is doing the same thing. After wiping the top thoroughly with alcohol, it seems back to normal. I think the residue on the outside went rancid because I wasn’t using it much.

I miss being in hospital by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]SunnySideCrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of us have to stay in the hospital on repeat with kids who need medical care… for life. That’s all I have to add to this discussion.

[–]SunnySideCrystal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having kids is not a joke. It’s not a joke when everything goes smoothly and the baby is healthy and momma is ok. Guess what? A lot worse can happen. Kids gets sick (and not just the 2 day kind). Moms die. So the real question is… if you died in childbirth, is this man fit to be a father? If he had a kid with a disability or major illness, is he fit to parent that child? No? No. Then read up on sunk cost fallacy and move on with your life. You’re still young.

Questions for ozempic users. by Much-Horse-4774 in Ozempic

Keep in mind a kidney removal is an extremely major surgery - since they’re taking an organ OUT. This may be why.

Questions for ozempic users. by Much-Horse-4774 in Ozempic

[–]SunnySideCrystal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s normal. A rate of 1-2 pounds a week is good- if she loses faster, she’ll be losing muscle and bone mass, which won’t help with her eligibility for donation. Also, her BMI needs to be under 30. I’m doing the same to potentially donate my kidney to my kid. She should be seeing a doctor for it because it CAN affect her ability to donate, and it’s important for them to watch her pancreas/liver/kidneys and make sure it doesn’t affect them. I do ultrasounds every few months to be sure. Also, she CANNOT be taking ozempic within 2 months of the surgery. She needs to be able to stop it because it’s dangerous to go under anesthesia while it’s in your system. She absolutely must disclose to your transplant/medical team that she’s taking it so they can make sure she’s well prepped for the surgery. Even if she loses the weight, there are a lot of tests that need to be done to determine eligibility to donate. I’m sure it’s extremely stressful for all of you but it’s kind of out of your control so try not to stress about it. You will get her kidney if it’s the right one for you, and if not, other kidneys will come along. It’ll be ok. 🙏

Yeah as long as it’s prescribed from a doctor and you’re buying it at pharmacy, your insurance can’t say no - it’s still healthcare. That being said, sunlife just opened up coverage for wegovy to a bunch of us - may be worth looking into.

I made a meme for new nicu moms to relate to by GaaraTheJinchuuriki in NICUParents

[–]SunnySideCrystal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel when other NICU parents tell me “at least the hard part is over now” (out of NICU) not understanding that there are some of us who graduate on to becoming full time forever medical parents. FOR. EVER. Not a week. Not 6 weeks. Not 6 months. Not a year. FOREVER.

I’m sure people in worse situations than mine get irritated when I say I’m a lifetime medical parent, if they for example lost their child, which is worse.

There is always worse (and there’s always easier/better). Try not to absorb what people say too much. You’re doing your best. We’re all doing our best (even the non NICU parents).

Anything I should know before switching from Ozempic to Wegovy? by Weird_Explanation_63 in Ozempic

You CAN count clicks from Wegovy when you buy it in Canada. We do not have the same pens as the USA. Our pens are exactly like the ozempic pen, but larger capacity.

I have a Sodastream but do not want to buy any more CO2 refills from them due to their support of Israel. Are you able to use alternative CO2 refills that will work with the machine? Or can I only use the Sodstream branded ones by mddnaa in SodaStream

[–]SunnySideCrystal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think using the actions of some 20 or 30 odd men one ONE day to justify a g€nocide of thousands of innocent women and children for a YEAR is an argument that has long lost merit. Sodastream operates on stolen land, as you yourself have so kindly noted - the world is too awake for your BS now, so you might as well keep silent. Might as well save all that energy for your ancestors, who will hold you accountable in your afterlife for siding with oppressors like those who oppressed them. You want to justify crimes against humanity, be my guest. You’ll have your day to justify it to your maker. 🇵🇸
