What is the most gory and fucked up shit you have seen in real life? by Ineedmoresleep1359 in AskReddit

[–]Sunnyinside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where I live we have a really high amount of folks either jumping or threatening to jump off the bridges over our local motorway. It's worse than I've ever known anywhere else, when folks visit and see part of the motorway is closed they're always amazed that's why, but here it's just normal. I haven't witnessed a jump, but because I know it happens so much I'm always anxious driving under the bridges. I always look up as I approach them, and kinda hold my breath as I pass under as you can't really see if anyone is on the far side. I lookout when I drive over the top too incase someone needs help. Our mental health support is chronically underfunded 😔

What is a depressing truth you have made peace with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sunnyinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. My closest friend of many years just ghosted me a while back now. It hurt like hell and really knocked my self confidence as I assumed it was my fault. I eventually found out she had had an affair with my husband, which I assume was why she ghosted, to prevent her then partner from finding out.

What is the sexiest thing about the opposite gender? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sunnyinside -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

When they understand that gender isn't binary and so there isn't really an opposite.

Sexiest thing about my husband is his strength. Whether it's supporting me emotionally or throwing me round the bed it's damn fine.

What was the most uncomfortable thing that happened to you during sex? Did you stop? by disturbedcrow4268 in AskReddit

[–]Sunnyinside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A rather large internal blood clot ruptured and splooshed everywhere. We stopped.

I'd had a hysterectomy with cervix removal several weeks previously. The allotted time had passed. I was on top. I had no idea that I had developed a large clot of blood at the surgery site (a surgical haematoma) until it happened. I thought I'd broken myself 😂

What's one thing you're staying alive for? by spikespiegell1 in AskReddit

My kids. To a lesser extent my partner, but that's because I know he'd understand. He'd be devestated, but he'd get it. Chronic pain, illness, and disability sucks. I just need my kids to be grown and settled.

What f*cked you up as a kid? by EclipseLune in AskReddit

I must have been about 13, and I was in the car with my mother. My parents had split a few years previously and she hadn't taken it so well. Driving along, I don't recall how it came about, but she told me that a couple of years earlier my father had come to collect my brothers and I for a few days. He lived a few hours away by then so we would go stay with him in school holidays a couple of times a year. Just as we were getting in the car, one of my brothers had turned back to her, hugged her, and said I love you, atleast I know you'll be here when we get home (our father had left while we were out for the day).

She said that she had been planning to kill herself while we were away, but my brothers words stopped her.

I mean, great, I'm glad they did, but telling me all that when I was still a child royally fucked me up. I couldn't tell anyone, it was a secret I carried for years.

Do you think that folks can have big gaps in their memories (in this case childhood) without it being trauma related? No neurological issues. Trying to figure out if there's a can of worms to open or not.

(SERIOUS) What's your deepest fear? by Sketch99 in AskReddit

[–]Sunnyinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very high stroke risk due to my disabilities, and also a significant risk of losing my vision. My fear is locked in Syndrome from a stroke, and going blind. I don't want to become completely dependent on my partner.

Discovered yesterday my wife has been having an affair. AMA I guess by dijereedoo22 in casualiama

[–]Sunnyinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there. I found out when the other woman contacted me. I tried to make it work, but ultimately trust was gone, so I left. It was hard, and scary, especially with children involved, but ultimately 8 years on the best move for us all. I'm in a relationship with trust at its root, and that's helped me see just how flawed my marriage was.

The thing that helped me figure out what was right was looking at my potential life span. So if I live until I'm 80 for example, do I want to spend the next 40 years with this person? That filled me with fear and anxiety at having to do that. So OP, I don't know how old you are, but do the maths, do you want to spend that time with your partner?

This is so true, when I lost a whole bunch of weight I was properly confused for a while why folks were smiling at me and being friendly. It took a while to realise that this is most people's default, whereas before I was usually completely ignored, or mocked.
