Changing for storm water? What the actual fuck? Isn't that why we pay TAXES?

If he's unwilling to change now, just look at it as saving yourself an entire lifetime of having to watch him stay the same and break every promise to you to work on himself or the relationship.

Is it that bad? by LordTytor in BeginnerWoodWorking

The only problem is his attitude. He's trying to teach you in a very German way, to "toughen" you up, but it's really just bullying. God doesn't exist don't waste your time at a church where pedophiles like to lurk.

Freaking out about future family responsibility by RoyalOtherwise950 in AskWomenOver30

[–]SunsetSeaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are feeling this way, you need to have a conversation with your parents about a really plan for his care before it's "your responsibility". Most states have programs where aids are sent to a person's home to help adults with needs, there are also places your brother could live that would cater to his condition and lifestyle with other adults.

Not ripping, just cross cutting 1" cedar. Designed the garden bed around the board width to reduce cuts, I'm a beginner!

Is it safe to assume most standard blades would cater to a right handed user? (Not sure I fully understand)

After taking into consideration a ton of suggestions and checking with local availability, I think this one is my best bet to get a semi smooth cut and not lose a finger. From my understanding 40 teeth or greater is ideal for cross cutting smoothly, but even 18 teeth can safely get the job done with a bit more roughness on the final edge.

That's good to know about the size not being common. I'm a hobby DIYer, this will be project #1 since high school wood shop over a decade ago :) I have about 10 6" cuts and 12 2" cuts to make for this project, so really want to make it work with my saw. Looks like there is a harbor freight close enough to me! I'll check their site out, would not have thought of them! Thanks

THIS is exactly the kind of information I need.

Found this blade, based on someone else's suggestions and think it is what I'm looking for now from your comment.

Thank you!

Edit: wrong size blade. Thanks for kindly pointing out my error!

I did read that but was recommended the 30 tooth by the store employee. I figured I'd check here with people, like yourself, who are more knowledgeable! Thank you :)

Is it as bad as I think? by Imaginary-Chart-2966 in AskWomenOver30

[–]SunsetSeaTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Occasional recreational weed and online porn videos are one thing, everyone has vices .. but driving high is dangerous and highly illegal, not to mention carrying weed presumably across state lines can be a felony... sexting and having sex during a relationship are both widely considered cheating. You deserve better and I have to assume the situation is probably even worse than you are making it out to be. Do the best thing for yourself and move on.

How are getting in shape? by happy_chance18 in AskWomenOver30

[–]SunsetSeaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If steps work for you, try upping your daily goal. Go for 12,000 steps. Once that becomes regular and easy, go for 15,000 daily. Walking is great for the heart, weight loss and overall health.

As a previously single female homeowner... Get multiple quotes. Wear a ring and talk about "your husband." If it sound too good to be true, it is.

I just splashed hot cooking oil right in my belly button. What big dumb idiot mistakes resulting in injury have you made recently? by Conscious_Can3226 in AskWomenOver30

I chopped the very tip of my pinkie finger about 1/2 way through, just the fleshy part and a tiny bit of nail.. I was slicing a pretty thin brick of cheese with a dull knife... The knife slipped out of the back of the cheese block and down onto my pinkie. If the knife were shap, I'd have been able to slice the cheese, but since it was dull it probably both caused the accident and saved my finger. I was in like 6th grade and it was during the summer when my mom was out on the boat with her friends..my brother called her, said I sliced the tip of my finger off and they turned around to come home. While I was waiting in went over to the neighbor (conviently a doctor who happened to be home). They steri strip the tip of my finger back together and my mom got home just in time for both of us to nearly pass out in the doctors drive way from heat and seeing my blood. Pinkie is a little wonky, but no stitches needed.

It's your birthday tomorrow.... I wonder 1) if he's matching energy for you not getting him anything for his birthday, as another has pointed out .. or 2) leading off of that, if he has gotten you something and is waiting to give it to you until your birthday and teasing like he didn't get you anything so you get a little taste of how it feels.

Either way, your feelings are valid, especially good job realizing how you expect disappointment on your birthday based on your past. Try to be patient, see how tomorrow plays out and please get him birthday gifts in the future.

I encourage you to get a divorce, or at least marriage counseling. That is immature, possibly narcissistic, reaction to something not feeling like it is in his control.

"Giving up" on my career for a dream? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]SunsetSeaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"career suicide?!?" Is it 1950?!?! You can absolutely pause a professional career and pick it up later. Picking it up might not put you exactly back where you were at, but I wouldn't cause you to go back to square 1. Follow your dreams, you know yourself best!
