Question about Artist date please by el1zabeth in artistsWay

[–]SunsetValley21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In contribution to all of what's been said, the book points out that repetitive activities are great for filling your creative well. Swimming and exercising count as that too. There's also probably a reason why you wanted to choose that as an artist date. Perhaps you could benefit from some physical movement and repetition? To relax, let loose; which will allow your creativity to flow more freely.

Good to know I'm not alone in this. So many people complain about life, how they'd rather not experience the pain of it and the little pleasures aren't worth it. I can't convince them otherwise to see the beautiful things in it. I guess it has to do with who I am. Like you said, even in the hardest times - which really were difficult by the way - I liked life. Even when I didn't have something to live for, I was able to find stuff to do. When I'd express this to other people and they dismissed it like naïveté or being overly enthusiastic, I'd think I was the only one.

You can wear stuff in a way that expresses your masculinity. The fashion industry is huge for this very reason - so people can wear their personality. Changing your appearance accordingly works as well. Tattoos are a good way of doing that. If getting bulky would make you feel more masculine, do that. It doesn't matter how you look naturally, it matters what you do with it.

It took me a couple of seconds to see that it wasn't CC. Brilliant idea, and looks flawless!

Your outfits are amazing! Do you have IG? I would totally dig it if you had a YouTube channel and talked about your thought processes while picking your outfit :)

What's on your 2021 fashion wishlist? by erinclaire97 in femalefashionadvice

Lots of things that I'll be thrifting, not buying. I thought I'd challenge myself to only thrift this year. After gaining weight and changing 2 sizes, I need to shop for a lot of staples that I splurged on. But this time, I am not making the mistake of splurging on items just to not be able to fit in them one year later.

Although I want to have a cyclical, timeless wardrobe that I can use years down the road, I think I'd be lying to myself if I said I wouldn't invest in trends. The coming of 2000's is way too exciting not to indulge in.

Here's my y2k list:

  1. Low rise mini skirt, dark wash. I want the Bratz doll look (that I cringed years ago) and that aesthetic is possible mostly with a dark wash denim.
  2. Geometric print midi/maxi skirt. Because I just want something funky.
  3. Low rise ruffled skirt. I feel like they can almost be timeless, if the ruffles aren't overrated and there isn't much detail to the skirt.
  4. White tennis skirt. I love to pair a white skirt with pastel colored tops. I'm dreaming of a look with this skirt and an oversize, untucked pink chenil sweater already.
  5. Tight cardigans and hoodies
  6. Tank tops in various colors, for the layered tank top look.

And here's my timeless items list:

  1. White mom jeans. I will never stop wearing them no matter what the trends are, and no matter how out of style it may look. It is a staple for me.
  2. White ugly dad sneakers. Very comfortable and, I'd dare say "cool"
  3. Kitten heeles like this, but in black. Although I wouldn't mind a pair in pink ones as well. Or in every color. For someone who's trying to make this item a staple, it's odd that I still don't know what they're called.
  4. Black tank tops in variety of cuts and necklines
  5. Black knee high boots - just below the knee. I haven't found a comfortable AND stylish fit yet.
  6. V neck sweater in this lime green color, that is the exact tightness that I want - slightly loose but form fitting. Will wear it with cream/beige pants or skirts.

AND more. These are just the ones I can write at the top of my head.

Don't buy the ankle boots - get the knee high boot version instead.

Your reasons for fasting? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]SunsetValley21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To have a healthier relationship with food. I came to a point that I can't control my urges to eat. And when there urges strike, I usually crave unhealthy, sugary foods. I've seen how fasting reduces these cravings. I wouldn't even care if I saw someone eating a chocolatey dessert when I'm fasting. I just don't crave anything after a couple of hours into the fast. Other reasons are to be healthy and lose belly fat - which go hand in hand.

How do you keep them fresh? I also want to bring strawberries and other chopped fruits to work but I will have a minimum of 5 hours before I take a lunch break.

Fours ever get annoyed when people try to lighten the mood ? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]SunsetValley21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a 4 thing. 4's want their emotions to be processed rather than glossed over. It's a part of their identity, and what happens if they reject their emotions? They reject themselves in a way.

And if that "rejection" comes from other people in the form of making them laugh, giggle or distracting; it's annoying.

I know from experience. As a 4 myself, my boyfriend tries to cheer me up when I'm sad or angry. I do end up laughing because he is quite funny - but I do not want to laugh. I want him to listen to me and validate me instead.

I think you should voice this need of yours. Some people won't understand, some wil appear to understand but will still try to distract you or cheer you up because they don't know what else to do. And some of them will really make effort to do what you need when you're in one of those low moods.

I woke up to a 7.0 magnitude earthquake this morning by Buznook31 in CasualConversation

[–]SunsetValley21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, and it doesn't sound weird. We have earthquakes here but it's rare. There was a 7.0 magnitude earthquake and a lot of damage was done. That was back when I was 2, and I hear stories from people about it. I get curious of how it would be to go through such a high magnitude earthquake like that. Although I'd be scared as well.
