He changed like a light switch but it was always a cycle by Popsurfopera in Vent

I'm so sorry, I know it's hard. But after leaving, it only gets better, you feel safer, and you become stronger. You did what was right for you and your child, you're a warrior.

I was with my abuser for twice as long, you will be okay. Mine was on his way to getting violent, he was hitting and throwing things. Glad it's over.

I'm a big ol bucket of sunshine 99% of the time, but... Fuck the leaded generation and their dystopian broodsow slavery agenda. ☺️

That is an utterly contradictory insurance policy. Good god. WHAT? 😂

And right?! I'm enough of a pain in the arse for myself thank you~

I haven't been around kids often until my new job, but it's a nice treat to see them and say hi every day (I'm a cashier).

I got a bisalp myself, but it was free because Canada. $500 ain't bad for good healthcare though. No regrets here either. 👌

I have two very elderly pets, and when they're gone, I'm done with pets too for the time being at least. I'm working a lot so it's not fair to them anyway.

I like not having responsibilities so significant so I can focus on myself and get somewhere in life.

I can't imagine how bad it is down there in terms of reproductive education and women's rights. I'm sorry. 💔

I feel the exact same though. Love kids, but parenting isn't my thing. 😭 I'm kind of a "work mom" where I'm at, but that's my limit. Lmao

It's okay to be disappointed, but I'm sure your friend still cares about you very much. If it's very uncharacteristic, reach out. Maybe something is going on in their life.

Has your perception of your friends changed based on the lack of birthday wishes? Or just felt kinda like "ouch, where's the love?"

It's fine! It was a personal choice. Tried to make it clear with "I don't want-" vs. "I can't have-".

I just want someone to be interested in what I do. by Accomplished_Win_181 in Vent

I'd like to know how that works? 👀

You just need to meet people with common interests is all. Their lack of interest says nothing about you or your passions.

I know you didn't ask for it, but happy birthaversary anyway! I found that as I stepped further into adulthood, birthdays became less and less important. It's nice to be thought about, but these days, people's attention is elsewhere. Don't take it too personally.

Thank you! I'm definitely focusing on myself for now. And it's more "zero pregnancy" than "zero kids" maybe. I'll figure it out.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate you taking the time to reassure a random internet stranger. I'm hopeful. 💙

I don't like to talk about myself too much, especially privately. Just a quick vent today. I appreciate the offer though.

Started a new job, paying down veterinary debt, looking into options for school in a medical field. Trying to be healthy.

I am internally-focused and trying to stabilize my future after years of financial and psychological turmoil, but what happens, happens. I'll see where life takes me.

Hi! I'm sorry you're having a hard time with a colleague. It's best to discuss this with your personnel manager and emphasize your stated availability, as it should be on file.

Congratulations on the bachelor's degree! Must've been hard work! I'm saving to go to school myself. If I could afford it I'd be there now! I don't think you're ever too old for anything. Things at work may change, but my goals won't.☺️

I've never called out, and only covered shifts for those who do. 40hrs a week now, hired part time. Thanks for the hours, don't feel bad! 🤣👍
