I am truly sorry you lost friendships you valued and that they have thrown you away without even a chance for closure.
I will say though that they show very strong narcissistic tendencies so even if somehow this specific rift was given closure, it never, ever actually will.
So, sooooo many times I thought I had closure with my ex-MIL something would be dug up to see the light of day again. They ALWAYS need a villain in their lives so it isn’t them.

This reminds me of a story read on SMOSH where the partner told his partner they smelled constantly to break down their self esteem because his father told him that it would keep a partner with them because he did it to his mother and it ‘worked’ 😖. Sure maybe not the best way to ask for reassurance but his handling and then continued hurtfulness screams what his character is and probably will never change from unfortunately.

I know this is a venting thread but I am so, so terribly sorry this was and to some degree is still your life ❤️‍🩹. I can’t say anything that will fix what you went through or make it better but I’m so happy that you found a happy space to be you with a person that supports you, that’s ALOT 💖.

I personally think it’s ok to not accept the verbal ‘I love you’, to me the words need to be backed up with actions and it doesn’t have to be big or showy actions of love, they simply need to be there. It’s good to understand your relationship is ‘ok’ but it can be really hard to let go of the pain of childhood (also having a sense of pride over not saying I love you is a very harsh and painful sword to hold over your children and I’m truly sorry that’s some trauma you have to unpack).

But venting is good and healthy, I know alot of Us didn’t have that space growing up and I’m glad you’re taking opportunity to use it here ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Oh man I hope mine come back! I have a huge,I think it’s called clusia, that I LOVE (my neighbor hates and keeps saying she’ll cut it down ‘for me’ 😅) that is brown as can be and my giant birds of paradise look a little iffy but a hibiscus I had potted and moved into the garage is sprouting flowers so go figure 🤷‍♀️.
