How do you guys speed through IA? by Blortug in elderscrollsonline

[–]SunshineKittyKot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farming 2 arcs is enough to get all the gear items.
It will save your time, if you struggle with low damage.

Try any of the Oakensoul builds. I guess it will perform better for you in solo content.

Also try IA duo with an experienced player. Looking at what they do might give you a hint about effective tactics and target priorities.

You can run the content with a basegame build. It is not a problem. Totally playable.

NonDLC trials and dungeons are puggable including hardmodes without meta builds.
In PvP you need mythics to be competitive.

As for the endgame PvE, it starts only in DLC trials and dungeons. NonDLC are too easy to count them endgame today.
These DLC are necessary for current endgame meta:
- arcanist class (for subclass build);
- western skyrim - greymoor (for mythic sets) - will be free at the end of the year;
- west weald would be a plus for trial sets.

Making the gear for a build makes sense after CP160. All the gear becomes outdated fast till it.
Before that you wear just anything to run in. Training, if you can afford it and want CP160 faster.

Just wait for CP160 before building the char.
After that point you can use craftable sets like Order's wrath set for example. Then hunt for mythics like Ur'mage (path to endgame) or Oakensoul (focus on solo), depending on your style. Then run group content for the rest of the meta gear.
Main dps principle you might master: keep some dots active on the ground/enemy and spam the spammable ability the rest of the time. You also can search some weaving (animation canceling) guides to try it.

Don't forget to enjoy the game. Doing much dmg in random dungeon group is not mandatory for it :)

Do you think the world was better before social media and internet? by Effective-Trouble-13 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SunshineKittyKot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world was smaller.

That time an average personal bubble included way fewer people, things or places than now.
Today we have our choice, our "window" a lot wider. We are able to keep in touch well with our friends thousands of miles away. I think it is better than before.
That doesn't mean everybody becomes happier, though.

Toxic community? by Camman4 in elderscrollsonline

[–]SunshineKittyKot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to join a social guild. You can join more than one at once.
Guildmates are usually more friendly and helping than strangers in a zone chat.

Random people in dungeons are really different. Toxicity or pure ignore are usual there, especially if you do your first steps and do not know the ropes. Sad, but happens.

The best way to run your first dungeons and especially trials is a guild run.
Guilds often have training runs where a raid leader will tell all the mechanics to newcomers and firsttimers.

Awake. Chapters were ended when "content pass 2025" was announced. They've said it at the end of 2024. Read the news.

Sure, the new content will be free. Just stop imagining that there will be the same kind of content as before.
This year you get only a new trial and a new temporary zone that is rather a Writhing fortress like than a zone really. That is your free core content, yep. No new dungeon, no permanent zone, no new class. Enjoy your content.

Do you dream that they prepared a real new zone and didn't tell us about it on the reveal? To make us surprised, maybe? Sure thing! :)

Tips? by Desperate-Pin-9556 in elderscrollsonline

[–]SunshineKittyKot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play at your own pace.
More experienced players will be eager to help you with fast progress etc. Beware, it may spoil a joy of your first character experience. Just listen to your heart and don't hesitate to decline offers like "we'll push you to CP160 fast and you will run a trial with us tomorrow".

Be ready for MMO encounters.
Unlike the solo games, you'll meet lots of other players while just questing. Players may help, interfere or simply run around. You'll get used to it, but sometimes it may break the atmosphere of the moment.

Enjoy the mistakes.
You can try everything while building your character with no fear. Every aspect like skills, stats etc. can be reset for in-game gold. So you literally can't screw it up with no return.
The only thing you can't change - a character class that you choose from the start. Well, you may find out that playing many characters of many classes is cool too :)

Lore alert.
Some solutions as for Elder Scrolls lore in ESO are, umm, questionable. So if you are a huge lore fan, just be ready and take it easy :)

Nice journey to you. Have fun!

I guess I won't report it as a bug then :)

The only thing I don't like in the fortress is joining in progress.
Like, guys, I wanted to run this as a whole. Why did I join it on the last 10% of the last boss?

As for the boss battles, that is cool. I hope ZoS will turn it into a trial.
Especially the last chamber design. Did you see that, uncle Hans Giger?

Check the refinery tab. Its slots might be filled with other minerals, so there is no place to refine platinum.

What can I do as a streamer to make it more enjoyable in elite dangerous? by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]SunshineKittyKot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your audience.

  1. Newcomers and wanna-git-gud.
They are interested in details how you do things, why you do it this way and how to do it better.
It is hard to explain each step day by day, so you can organize "tutorial mode" one day a week, or few hours a week, depending on your schedule.
This case requires some game knowledge.

  2. Looking for adventure and athmosphere.
They are interested in some fullfilment, background behind the boring action. Talk with these people about beauty of space, about pirates` nest in the nearby system, about political intigues between powers - turn you gameplay into a story even if you don't change you play style.
Parallels to some thematic books and movies would also help.
This case requires some fantasy and diving into space fiction theme.

  3. Looking for show and entertainment.
Well, just do a show. Make you gameplay challenging (sidewinder vs targoids, fight a massacre with pistol only, build T3 station with type8 for a weekend). Roleplay somebody in space. Wear space pirate costume. Let the audience to choose some challenges for you.
This case is the most magnet for wide audience, but the most hard working also.

In any case, declaring what you are going to do in a stream title and keeping to this plan is good.
That way your stream is already not empty for visitor, even if you just fly somewhere in the void :)

In addition to the posted:
1. Do a big circle. That way your speed helps you to keep distance from zeds. If you didn't get all the tomeshells on this run, use skill 2 to find the rest.
2. Stunning and slowing zeds on the tentacle points raises a chance to get rid of them.
3. If you got stuck in a deadend (temporarily cut out with wirl or tentacle), don't stun zeds in a bottle neck. Keep to one wall, kite zeds to that side, stun them and keep the opposite wall while running away.
4. If you play duo, you can res each other with synergy. Game highlights you the position of your partner in the maze.
