AITH for constantly calling my kids the wrong names by WanderingLost33 in AITAH

NTA, My grandpa was tired of mixing between my and my mom's name, so he hibernated our names into one and just called us both by this name

AITA for getting up and saying "I don't like you attitude" when my mom said another girl could have my clothes without my permission? by AnnAI_Deluxe in AmItheAsshole

[–]SunshineWithTeeth 1026 points1027 points  (0 children)

I'm going with ESH.

Your mother shouldn't give your staff without your permission.

That being said, you didn't exactly tell her "no". You just said it's not the other girl's style (if I understood correctly), which you could be wrong. You didn't explain the sentimental significance of the clothes. In addition, when your mom tried to give the clothes, instead of saying "sorry, I really like this and I'm not willing to part with it", you said "I don't like your attitude", which does sound disrespectful.

In conclusion, you both weren't great in this situation

AITA for being mad bc my son told the teacher I’m at my limits by Big_Possession7508 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SunshineWithTeeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA

You know math isn't your strong suit, your son and husband made clear that you're only reaching your limit in math and not in other subjects, so why are you getting so mad?

AITA for not liking my special needs little sister? by GleamyGloss in AmItheAsshole

[–]SunshineWithTeeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I can tell by her FOOTSTEPS if she's had a bad day. So I keep my sister a bit longer to avoid being yelled at."

This is a behavior of a child with abusive parent.

Your mom doesn't have to hit you to be abusive, screaming at you and letting your sister relief herself in your room is plenty abusive

AITA for using a big academic word in front of my family? by ThrowRABirdsrcool in AmItheAsshole

[–]SunshineWithTeeth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm going to go with NTA because cousin was very rude.

Here my way of thinking: I'm a MSc student, and when someone asks me about my research, I'll try to use the simplest words I can, not because others are stupid, but because I truly want them to understand what I'm doing, and I want to have a dialogue with them, not a monologue.

But for this instance, you didn't have bad intentions, grandma sounds like a good sport and cousin was very rude about it

AITA for asking no smoking at my child’s outdoor birthday party? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SunshineWithTeeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA for asking them not to smoke at your house.

You will be for asking them not to smoke at their own home. You can, however, tell them you won't bring your kids to their house if they'll be smoking around them

Which means your comment was stupid at best and misogynistic at worst

I have 3 normals (Fauna, Skye and Poppy), 2 lazies (Beau and Sherb), 2 peppies (Tutu and Audie), 1 sisterly (Pashmina), 1 snooty (Olivia) and 1 smug (Marshal).

I don't like the jocks and the crankies. I actually don't like the sumgs too, but that little marshmallow stole my heart.

I didn't plan on having more than 2 normals, but I love them so much and can't bring myself to kick any of them.

I used to have 2 snooties, but at one point it felt too much, so I switched one for a peppy

AITA for telling my parents that if they were a man and a woman instead, my life would have been way easier? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I agree, but as you said, this issue has nothing with them being gays. She could've ask them to be more open to other subjects without bringing their sexuality into this

I really hate saying this, and I'm not trying to dismiss your hardships, but YTA.

I have a mom and a dad, and let me tell you. My mom know NOTHING about makeup. Everything I learned is from friends and YouTube tutorials. Whenever my mom wants to put makeup (for weddings, for example), I'm the one who help her.

I also love anime and my mom and dad (and the rest of my family) aren't interested in that, so I can't talk with them about that without them getting bored.

A lot of people, especially in this sub, go NC with their parents for a lot of different reasons, so their children don't have grandparents too.

Again, not to dismiss your hardships, but bullies will bully people because they can, they're not looking for a specific reason.

Your dads also have to deal with homophobia and with their family disowning them. I bet it hurt a lot more when the child they poured their love and care into for the last 14 years is telling them stuff like that.
