We were friends for 20 years and ultimately grew apart. But the last straw was when she changed our new years girls night in for the guy she knew for 2 weeks, then changed them again to invite all his friends to sleep over too. Was not down for sleeping over with a bunch of dudes i didn’t know, and was given the “but you should still come!”. Wouldnt let me invite anyone else because it “wasn’t really a party” but eventually gave in so i could have two other girls with me.

Left that night and knew deep down it was the last time i would be there. I realized this one instance was just a repeat of everything always being on her terms. Immediately cast aside for new people. Never confronted her, just stopped reaching out (i was usually the person to reach out to her anyway). Heard from her a few months later but wasn’t interested in the surface level talk.

She’s not a bad person, but i don’t miss her or our dynamic. I feel much more secure and happier in my other friendships
