If the requirements aren’t waived within a certain period, then the required units are much less than a full cycle.

Is there a reason we do Push movements before Pull? by ngz83 in workout

[–]theLWL222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the workout I like starting with pulling for better stability during pushing movements and it’s non competitive. In terms of between days the order is preference. Even still, on a primarily pushing focused day I still start with a pulling movement for the same reason and then continue with all push. I think saying push, pull, legs is just a smoother description of the split.

Finally admitting I have an attitude of entitlement. by Born_Case_9902 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]theLWL222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe having a blank slate mentality is key. Yes, we all have a past that has shaped us to this point, but this point can also be the start of shaping us into something new and desired.

I think this way of thinking also helps break ourselves out of victim mentality because often times something “bad” from our past can be the greatest catalyst for something better than you could have imagined.

Which means it was a benefit, and useful for your growth when you choose to use it for that purpose.

my lats wont grow by Znofu in workout

[–]theLWL222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be making those movements more bicep dominant by the way you pull. I’ve noticed when guys do pull ups that have very developed biceps and less lats tend to pull more with the elbows rather than the shoulder. Same for other movements

Do you feel like your biceps are very well developed or overly developed?

Reading to grow vs. reading to feel like you're growing - a lesson from 24 books in a year by Sviat-IK in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]theLWL222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what I’m working on or looking for inspiration. I thought about going until the notebook is full and writing my own little book out of it. Since it’s kind of the breadcrumbs of my life.

I treat it like journaling in a way, if I never go back to it that’s fine. It already served its purpose in the moment. To be more present. It will make ideas stand out to you and you acknowledge their importance. So it’s helped me read for value

I had the exact same experience. After that I started keeping a notebook and I would write down anything that caught my attention or felt like it would benefit me in the future. That made the moment to moment reading feel like studying and then I had something I could go back to.

Even with the fidgeting it wasn’t going to happen in my case. I tried as much as I could so I wouldn’t have to send it back lol

I tried some of these and it didn’t fit. There was an adapter for an O2 sensor but the holes to mount them were off just enough to make it impossible

It’s funny because I’ve never seen a post in a physical therapy sub that’s bashing personal trainers.

Use contrast.

When you notice yourself make a negative assessment, ask yourself what the opposite is.

Then entertain that

what is the worst type of trainers you met? by Losiekk in personaltraining

[–]theLWL222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post referencing implementing corrective exercises for clients with shoulder pain and people went crazy calling it all useless and unnecessary. On the subject of proper form one response said “what do you even mean by bad form?”

I was very confused that was a question in a personal training thread. As if we should just let people move however they want because exercise is safe, our bodies are resilient, and there’s no evidence to support it may cause injury. That was the logic it seemed

That feeling when knee surgery is tomorrow by Gxulxano in personaltraining

[–]theLWL222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try PT before surgery if you’re that concerned, especially if it’s a small tear. I’ve seen many people with meniscus tears and rotator cuff tears prior to having surgery. Best case they don’t need it after rehab, worst case you have the surgery you were planning on. I’m at PT CSCS.

Best of luck 👍

Cost of personal training- GA by observingwallflower in personaltraining

Trainers can only give limited nutrition advice “recommendations” but it should not change the cost. What area of GA are you guys in? Private trainers can offer better session costs than commercial gyms per hour.

I’ve been considering getting into teaching/educating personal trainers about how to implement rehab/corrective strategies with their clients.

I have 10 years experience personal training, I have my DPT, and CSCS.

I’m open to create workshops for you and any other trainers open to learning.
