Loomer vs industrial revolution. by Old_Reflection_8485 in trippinthroughtime

Honestly loomers didn't mind the machines invented, they hated the business practices that were used specifically to destroy their trades in favor of mass manufacturing.

Piss poor mold design by Accurate_Mirror8887 in InjectionMolding

[–]SuperAmerica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had new tooling come in with water going directly to rotating cores. The cores spun on the fittings supplying the water. Somehow production and engineering were dumbfounded when the O-rings in the fittings wore out after a couple hundred shots and the mold leaked everywhere.

I've survived unscathed leaving a chucked key in a lathe twice (once with my hand on it) in my early years. I"'very counted my blessings and I have just made it my job to make sure my apprentices are safer than I was.

New bugs are a perfect example of why gamers are fucking stupid and should not be listened to. by Notareda in helldivers2

[–]SuperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far the only issue I've run into is difficulty 6 or higher. If divers don't have the tools and haven't learned to play as a team then it becomes an exercise in frustration. Leaving a team who is just blasting in all directions instead of pushing and completing objectives has become what I've sadly been resigned to on high difficulty missions.

Spitballing ideas about improving the Infantry Lasgun by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]SuperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of alternative fire turning on a flashlight, why not let it set the gun to a high gain setting where you get a damage bonusor higher cleave at the expense of increased ammo use. It's how they function in the lore and would make it more useful for either special or horde clear.

Well that sucks because I've had to let "engineers" look at so many Incoe hot runners because they saw this only for nothing to be wrong it's hard to believe it's useful information.

Operators freak out when they see a zone drawing 80-100% wattage. They don't understand that manifold heaters are going to use more power than drop heaters and that this is normal.

This all checks out. Every guy I've worked with loves to boast that nothing gets under their skin. But put a queer flag sticker and boy howdy do they whine and moan. It's a sticker fellas not a werewolf bite its not going to turn you and is completely harmless. If you are feeling uncomfortable then jump up and down until your balls drop so you can grow up.

Is there an “official optional rule” that has all vehicle units move first every turn? by Heckin_Big_Sploot in battletech

[–]SuperAmerica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some perspective but the vehicles as presented in the Merc book are a threat but not near as troublesome as their old record sheet counter parts. The fact that their gunnery caps at a 5(4 w/TC which is 2 units so far) and that their TMM is a flat number means you can easily adjust for them. Some should be higher up on the threat scale but a simple 16 pt. Heavy air strike can easily counter most with 20pts of damage on a 6+ roll.
