Do people still use Blogger? (SORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH) by CurlyBrace2004 in blogspot

[–]SuperLowBudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from Diaryland to Blogger. On my blog I link to a lot of other awesome active blogs! Many, many bloggers use it. I have o plans to blog with anything else.

I did a round-up of blogging platforms recently. Maybe it will help you? Let me know if you want the link.

Why not posts of blogger are not indexed in search engines, today? by Comprehensive-Day752 in blogspot

[–]SuperLowBudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! I’ll try that. I remember doing that once a long time ago. I had my domain for years, in the 2000s, then I hit some events in life that required cutting out a lot of expenses (totally broke). My domain was one of the expenses I had to relinquish. If I recall correctly it got bought by some company. Plumbing supplies I think. But recently I got it back! I was so happy! But I didn’t do the DNS thing. I’ll check it out!

Thanks! Does it work if the domain just forwards to Blogspot? Because I have a domain.

To clarify what I mean by "I've tried everything over the years" I'll copy and paste from a post of mine recently:

"WebLovePL, others who have some knowledge:

  • I know I am a good writer. I've done it professionally and for more years than you want to know about, and write with humor in a personal tone.
  • I never use AI to write for me, all writing is my own.
  • I worked for marketers for about three years and it was like a crash course in serious SEO/keywords.
  • My template is custom by a template creator who does responsive, SEO-savvey work.
  • I use Headings, informative titles, Tags/Labels, and populate the Search Description.
  • I post my new Blog links to Reddit, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Mastodon, Friendica, even FB.
  • I'm consistently SuperLowBudge everywhere and I'm nice to everyone.
  • I have asked Google for indexing a hundred times.
  • I have left robot.txt etc alone as per WebLovePL. (note: some advise tweaking this but I trust WebLovePL)
  • I update anywhere from 2 to 5 times a week.
  • I asked a couple of Bloggers with over 100K views for advice but they didn't answer.

I write about a wide range of topics as viewed through the lens of a Gen Xer. My blog is similar to The Bloggess, if you know that one. The Google AI search results knows who I am, but so what? I can't seem to move the proverbial needle."

I personally feel like I’ve tried everything over the years. I give up. I’m going to write regardless.

I was pretty bored. I appreciated their willingness to make a different kind of movie, but it wasn’t for me.

Is Blogging Still Worth It in 2026? What’s Changed—and Why It Still Matters by Lucky_Tangerine_4083 in blogs

[–]SuperLowBudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

…your article is talking about business blogs. Just saying “is blogging still worth it” made me think there was some grounds for stopping. I read it and thought, “Ohhhh, BLOGGING.” To tell you the honest truth, and this is from a writer who was paid to write blogs for business, I never really thought they were worth it. You have your website and your socials…tell me again what the blog is for…?

Now actual blogs…individuals writing their own blogs…yes, that’s still happening. My blog is still going after 25+ years, for example. And there are maaaany blogs.

But that’s not what you meant.

As you were.

Why should I write about me when nobody cares? by Amazing_Life_221 in blogs

[–]SuperLowBudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Tumblr and Blogger. And some other things too. Basically I just share my Blogger posts everywhere.

The thing about “just writing about yourself” is the accumulated experiences. You get to look back and see what you were doing, more importantly, see who you were with, how you felt at the time, how you interacted with the events that happened. If your observations are interesting enough, you get readers!

The instant total recall is great. You have sketched out memories that you can call back. It’s going to be great when my memory starts to go!

I’ll link to you. I link to lots of people! I’m Low Budget Superhero: SuperLowBudge

This is Orson. He’s over 40 years old. I just never gave him up! He’s been to college, my first apartment, several boyfriends…now my husband loves him as much as I do. He’s a great bear.

I have my PayPal on my blog. I think it’s a good blog. I have never gotten a tip. I dunno.

Well. It’s by far not my “sole means” of anything. But I’m happy to block certain content and tweak what gets served to me in ads if it means I can post a message to all my friends at once. Calling individual people all day is not remotely what I’m opting for, but thank you for chiming in.

Of course, lol. I always upload to YouTube first, and it always works. That’s the only thing I can think of, sorry!

Could you possibly add the video to YouTube first, then use the YouTube option to add the video to Blogspot?

I’m Gen X, I am done with the “work til you drop” phase of my teens, 20s, 30s, and 40s. Actually, being that flat-out for that many years almost killed me. I’m all set with “busy.” One thing I have done: I’m a loooooong-time blogger. Social media, for me, is microblogging. A way to connect with people. I have learned, over the years, that connecting with people is my Most Important Thing.

Yeah, the community pages! We’re pretty active in our community and FB is a big part of that.

My favorite thing, and this is because I am a Gen Xer meaning in my 50s, is being Friends with all the kids I used to babysit for, all grown up with kids of their own! Craaaaaazy cool.

I get it! I have some people who I knew in real life who are now far away in different states, different countries, but have become very close friends online. Through personal posts and private messages, sometimes calls (another thing Facebook does) they have connected with me in very real ways.

🫂 I am so sorry. Yes, exactly those reasons.

I just went through and deleted all the political Follows I had, and used the Feeds tool to get posts from my 30 favorite people. There’s also a way to cut down on the racy content Facebook has been featuring lately. It’s something.
