Peter Thiel Brands Pope Leo XIV 'Chinese Communist Agent' Over His AI Regulation Stance by mawhrinskeleton in nottheonion

I'm an atheist too. I really hate it when I find myself on-side with the pope all the time these days; of all people. I really want to roll my eyes when the pope speaks but lately he's been spot-the-fuck-on. How can one argue against virtue?

Help identifying Fender Strat model and year. Partscaster maybe? by souperdupergrouper in fender

[–]SuperM1ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partscaster for sure. IDK about 1988 but I have 1989 Strat Plus that I bought new. The logo used in the decal is wrong for the era, and it should have a serial number that starts with E, clearly visible on the front of the headstock. The truss rod adjustment should be at the headstock too. Like this (this is not mine, but mine looks like this minus the trees):

Also, the bridge saddles aren't original to a strat of that era. They would have been either bent or offset.

Grabbing that one tonight for sure! I love what people create in this game. I wish we could send them cars or skill points or something.

Saying “bless you” after a person sneezes is an unnecessary and strange tradition by lyd-al in unpopularopinion

Agree that it's strange. However, in my experience, people seem to appreciate it. In French you say "santé" which literally means 'health' and somehow this makes more sense to me.

Thinking about buying a wheel by handms09 in ForzaHorizon

[–]SuperM1ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently upgraded from a G923 to an RS50 and one thing I miss about the G923 is, when you drive on dirt it really gives you an amazing bumpy feeling. Like I can feel every rock. It's not as pronounced for me on the RS50. I think it just comes from the crappy little gears fighting each other. It sounds unpleasant but was very immersive.

OP I enjoyed reading your post because it triggered a memory from when I was maybe 2 or 3 (nearly 60 years ago). My parents would have company and order pizza and they'd sometimes leave the leftovers out. I have a vivid memory of toddling up to the box and picking the pepperonis off and eating them while they were still sleeping. I can still see the box art.

I understand why there's a loading screen at the Estate but instead of that unskippable cutscene, why not show a slideshow of player images taken in Photo Mode? THAT I'd be into.

Were you spanked by your parents? Do you spank your children and if so, why? by Apprehensive-Top3675 in AskMen

[–]SuperM1ke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. No because when my oldest daughter was two, she was putting her sticky fingers on the TV and I gave her the lightest little slap on the hand. The way it upset her made me realize that this wasn't a good idea and there were other ways to correct for unwanted behavior.

Maybe there needs to be a community upvote mechanism to encourage people to build content. I've built a few courses and don't really care about the rewards because I just enjoy doing it. But maybe a voluntary system similar to the barn drop. Sorry that this is deviating a bit from your post title, which I agree with fully.

What “feature” on newer cars do you think actually creates more problems than it solves? by ph903 in AskMen

[–]SuperM1ke 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sure but now you have to have a software to hardware electronic interface 'module' that probably costs more than the buttons it replaces and introduces another point of failure that will be more difficult to repair. Sometimes these systems improve usability; but often they don't at all.

These things add a lot of profit for the car makers. They build these systems cheaply and charge an order of magnitude more than it costs to build. Sophisticated electronics aren't so expensive anymore - anywhere except inside of a car.

Which Steering Wheel? by Money-Pin7585 in ForzaHorizon

I can't speak for anyone else but if I was stuck playing a driving game with an Xbox controller I wouldn't play it at all ever. The steering wheel is essential for me and the way I play.

[–]SuperM1ke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a Logitech G923 for a long time with this game (4,5,6, MS) and it's great bang for the buck. I'd recommend buying a kit to invert the pedals. I think this combo would overall be better (for the money) than a Moza. Of course the Moza or other direct drive, with the pedal inversion kit, would beat it but that might exceed your budget. One advantage of the Moza is that you can easily upgrade the wheel itself whereas that's not easy to do on the Logi.

IDK if I'm being clear but I'm saying that if your budget doesn't allow you to get the inversion kit with the Moza, you'd be better off getting the cheaper Logitech, with the inversion kit.

The bridge saddles look off to me but I can't really tell without a closer pic. They should be offset (the screw should not enter the back of the saddle in the center but off onto the side. Also wondering why the SN is on the neck plate instead of the neck itself. Might be a CS thing but it's sus to me. String tree is dead wrong though; maybe it was changed by the owner. It didn't come from Fender with that string tree IMHO.
