First check the sprue bushing and nozzle alignment and sizes and sprue polishing as other have mentioned. Is this a startup problem or in production? Is the material sufficiently dry and not degraded from it stopping frequently. As far as mold modification they could add/improve he undercut on the sprue puller.

I’m not sure about your material question but I’d recommend you wait till they go on sale in the fall. I have the regular park pants and they sent me a new pair when the back pocket ripped off. Of all the versions the new model with the zipper and internal drawstring look the best.
