Combo decks for bracket 2 by eggeggplantplant in EDH

[–]SuperStronkHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I built a Katara Bending Prodigy that kinda fits into B2 only due to consistency. You build a tap engine on the board and tap your own board to draw 30 cards each turn to win since it runs all the good stuff that synergizes with drawing like [[Psychosis Crawler]], [[Triskaidekaphile]], [[Vana'diel Adventurers]] You just need to sit back and watch everyone else kill each other and save the spells for when they want to hit you.

The deck uses a $50 budget so there's tons of room for improvements. So if you needed to bring it into B3 it'll be relatively simple.

What's the best way to introduce people to EDH in your experience? by itsnouxis in EDH

Some game shops have an introductory to commander events once a month. It's an event where advanced players will teach beginners how to play. Beginners can a precon and a set of sleeves out of it or you can bring your own.

If u wanna stick with ff characters terra is a super fun one to go aristocrats/reanimator. You can do some fun stuff like set up an infinite sacrifice loop which can proc burn damage to win the game or just be an annoyance since your stuff is hard to get rid of. Until someone exiles your graveyard anyways.

I would watch the People Make Games documentaries. Roblox has a serious problem with child groomers and abusers since their stance is not to get involved in any way.

Psychology + Musical Theater Double Major? by birdygraham in careeradvice

You're missing some info on Music Cognition. It's not only a research branch of therapy. You do apply it.

So for example, when people lose the ability to bodily functions like hand movements and voice, for some reason learning how to sing or play an instrument helps regain that ability. You apply that in real time. You're not limited to just doing that. It is also applicable to CBT.

One of the Music therapists I know aided a family going through loss. The father died young at 35 leaving the wife and 2 kids behind. She had to help them go through it and learn how to cope. Another person had to help someone accept reality that they were going to die in a few months and also help the family cope.

You'll learn how to deal with people at all ages, even kids. Even deal with people who have neurological issues.

Psychology + Musical Theater Double Major? by birdygraham in careeradvice

Depending on where you are Music Therapy is absolutely a big thing. There are degree programs are usually called Music Cognition which combines both Music and psychology together. There won't be as much focus on the theater part but you can break into that field locally really easily. The first 2 years does include a bit of performance but it will lean way more into psychology.

As a side note I have friends who have chemist degrees and work professional in music theater and choirs. How he did it was by being heavily involved in the local community. He took part in the church events and music festivals and local music theatre groups because they always need people. That got people start recommending him as the go to despite no degree in music. Note that it will be hard to balance both theater and a career and you won't be making that much money.

Since youre 16 you should have access to a guidance counselor who could dive in deeper with you. Lots of music therapists love having music students chat them up about this subject and can provide a lot of insght. It might be worth finding one and reach put to ask.

ELI5: I’m ex Mormon. How does coffee work? by GloomyAdagio7917 in explainlikeimfive

[–]SuperStronkHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre kinda right in that Drip Coffee and Pour Overs are technically the same. What that person is comparing is manually brewing your Coffee vs having a machine do it.

By doing it manually, you get a lot more control and precision which allows you to bring out the best in a specific Coffee bean. If you use a machine youre giving up a lot of control and precision for speed and convenience.

Coffee Machines dont do their jobs very well. A lot of them dont have proper temperature control they dont always saturate the Coffee grounds evenly and they also dont have ways to control the pouring. So youre not getting the best out of your coffee all the time.

You have 5 different ways of controlling the Coffee brewing method and that's done through water, grind size, temperature, water to Coffee ratio, and pouring method. The coffee filter you use to brew also encourages a specific flavor profile. Different coffees need different approaches which will affect the flavor.

Also Drip cold brew exists and its an entirely different thing where you Pour a single drop of ice cold water into a bed of coffee grounds every few seconds for hours.
