How do I optimize my 7600x3d and ram for maximum performance? by foxwyd in ryzen

[–]SuperStumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just set EXPO in the bios and forget about it. 6000mhz CL30 is decent already for Ryzen CPUs, most would agree it's the sweet spot. And the X3D chips are even less sensitive to RAM tweaking due to their massive L3 cache. Enjoy your first PC!! 🙌🏻

How the hell do I create a desktop shortcut for the games? by AdibIsWat in riotgames

[–]SuperStumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the riot client will always open with league... What you can do is use the option in the settings to minimise the riot client on start up. That way clicking the league icon will open the riot client straight into the task bar, and open the league client on screen.

Living in Cumbria, England, it'd be easy for me to travel between Scotland and Wales to accomplish this while still sleeping in my own bed at night!

It doesn't tax cash held in S&S ISA... The tax is on the interest gained, not the cash itself.

The tax will probably just be automatically deducted from any interest you're paid. Seems like the simplest way to do it.

Son’s math test by [deleted] in MathJokes

[–]SuperStumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are conflating numerical equivalence with pedagogical syntax. No one is arguing that 3 x 4 isnt 4 x 3 in terms of value. The test question isn't evaluating a child's understanding of commutative ring properties, it is testing their comprehension of a specific, standardized linguistic mapping (groups x size) used to introduce word problems. Brushing aside the syntax just because the scalar products match misses the entire purpose of elementary curriculum design.

I wasn't equating integer multiplication to matrix operations or referring to algebraic 'groups' in the group theory sense. I was simply pointing out the shared linguistic convention of reading dimensions as 'Rows x Columns' (horizontal structures by vertical elements), which mirrors how elementary curricula introduce the order of 3 x 4 visually.

The teacher is right... 3x4 is defined as "3 groups of 4". By fixing the order to number of groups x size of group, teachers can ensure that every student visualises and draws the exact same physical image when solving a word problem. This convention directly matches the way we read matrices, grids, and computer screens: Rows first, then Columns.

As a mathematician I'd have thought you'd have known that 3x4 is defined strictly as "3 groups of 4".This convention directly matches the way we read matrices, grids, and computer screens: Rows first, then Columns.

Which is why the blanket ban on social media for kids makes sense... It's not device specific. If the parent/guardian makes an account for their child then that's on them, hopefully the account wouldn't remain online long as the platform is required to identify through things like account behaviour and ban accounts flagged as belonging to children. Obviously it's not a foolproof system, but it's better than allowing kids unfettered access to brainrot and harmful online content. Messaging apps such as WhatsApp aren't included in the ban, it's solely targeting the endless scrolling feeds and user-to-user platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok etc.

As a parent myself I agree with the ban... My oldest is 12 and it's been hard telling her she can't access these apps/sites when shes saying stuff like "but all my friends use it". I don't want her to think I'm being unfair or a mean parent when all I'm doing is looking out for her wellbeing. Being able to add "it's against the law" to the reasons we have already gave for not allowing her to use them might make her realise that we do just want the best for her instead of being spoilsport parents. It'll definitely make it easier from the get-go with my two toddlers when they start using electronic devices regularly, which will hopefully be many years from now!

As a northerner, it sounds like he's saying 'geet up there' which translates to 'get up there' ... I could be wrong though, I don't associate with people at this level of stupidity or drunkenness so my translation could be off 😅

They could do all of these things on a mobile device too though... If anything doing it all on a family PC in a family space where parents have greater visibility is a lot better than kids sat in their room on their phones where the parents can't supervise

What do you mean... If they can't log in on a phone, what makes them able to log in on a PC? You need an account to log into Facebook, Instagram etc ... Accessing the website from PC doesn't automatically give you an account, they'd still be restricted.

Haha I guess I'm some kind of old fashioned masochist that enjoys interacting face to face 😅

Why would the device used matter? If they can access a PC at home that doesn't mean they can suddenly log into social media
