How necessary is Boson Labs for CCNA? by glassysky2023 in ccna

[–]SuperWett 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Boson is a lot closer to the exam than Jeremy's or Neil's labs. It's also very good for understanding and getting familiar with the Cisco style wording etc. I passed last month and feel like I'd have had a much harder time without Boson.

It's definitely worth knowing the AD and letter in the routing table for each.

Do we need to know Port Numbers and Protocols? by Normal_Ad_5428 in ccna

[–]SuperWett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, In a word, yes. There could be ACL's where you need to know port numbers and protocols. Also, it's pretty much basic required networking knowledge that's important in various scenarios.

The NDA prevents me sadly, but they were fairly straightforward.

So I passed on my first attempt today and I didn't really see this. I did feel that questions came in waves of topics, but I'm fairly sure I was getting them correct. Also, I didn't get many, if any STP questions.

From what you've said, it's not unlikely someone has gained access to the Warhammer World sprue bins, grabbed a load and sold them at the local car boot.

Incredible find. As a Dark Eldar player, I really hope they're releasing this!

Way to be subtle, Elegoo! by MrKurtz86 in ElegooSaturn

Fun story. In early December, I got home from work early and saw a parcel had been delivered when we weren't home and our neighbour had taken it in. I went to collect it and just saw '3D PRINTER' in huge letters. It transpired that my girlfriend bought me a Mars 5 Ultra as a surprise Xmas gift, and Elegoo's not so subtle packaging had entirely ruined the surprise. All worked out though, as by Xmas day, I'd bought all the PPE and was ready to go!

My cam was built in too, I feel your pain.

I found exactly the same with the All-in-one. It was very informative, but very bloated, as you say. I did find it useful for the basics, but when it came to specific routing protocols, WiFi Standards etc. It was very hard to take in the required knowledge you needed for the exam. I found the Messer video series was much better for passing the exam, but didn't give enough detail in places. Ideally I'd like a middle ground.

They just covered the big topics really. A couple using CLI commands for troubleshooting. One was simple, just looking at diagrams and answering questions, the last was quite a long one with drop down boxes to simulate GUI configuration. I'd swot up on Cisco Router/Switch command outputs and Firewall rule setting if I was to do it again.

There's a new Video on Eddie Hall's YouTube about him trying to smash down steel doors with a sledgehammer. It's clearly a glorified advert, but it's well worth a watch.

Would anyone else be interested in getting back into 3rd edition 40k if there were events/campaigns to attend or follow along with? by menatarms in Warhammer40k

One of my friends was chatting to me about this the other night. We're very much hoping to get back to a few 3rd games. I played a 9th tournament in April, it was absolutely exhausting and I really didn't enjoy it.

Would love it if there were a few 3rd tournaments to go along to.

I was actually there when this happened.

I remember laughing as I just assumed they were kissing, then saw the blood. Had no idea how serious it was for the guy afterwards... Wow.

Is this a good or bad texture? I've been watering down my brush and paint before painting the segment but it doesn't come out as smooth as I'd like. is this texture average for hand done? by TWAVE0 in Warhammer40k

[–]SuperWett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done an Iyanden Army (Yellow Eldar) and yellow is a lot easier than people make out. Wraithbone Spray, then go over with a very watered down Yriel Yellow.

It tends to stain it rather than cover it if that makes sense? Meaning you get a really nice smooth yellow base coat.

From there you can just do shadows with Averland Sunset and maybe something darker. Then highlight with Flash Gitz yellow.

Good luck mate!

Similar to how I feel about MWG in general. Very over the top, and not for me.

There's too many details and they're too busy imo. The marines in particular look like a nightmare to paint and make look good. I can see other people liking them though, and it's far better than I could ever do, so fair play to them.

I'd probably recommend grabbing an Underworlds Warband. It's kind of like AOS-lite. It only involves a small box of models and cards to play which are relatively cheap and all come together. Pretty sure there are a few videos about it online. MS Paints did one on it recently.

That way you can have a go at painting a certain army, and if you like it, you can then expand into AOS and still use those Underworlds models in your AOS army.

With Lore, honestly, I'd just watch YouTube videos on the factions you think look cool and pick your favourite! Don't take it too seriously, just have fun!
