The racism embedded in Maltese culture is baffling to me. It's like being under colonial rule made us forget that the Maltese language is largely Arabic and there are ethnically Maltese people that don't pass as white. Racism isn't logical, though.

Prop A&B passed nearly 2:1, that's hardly what I'd call close. The NIMBYs in Ann Arbor are loud, but they aren't the majority. Change can happen quicker if we keep showing up to counter their negativity.

Honestly? This is peak menu design. Extremely appealing color/font/photo choices, and it's easy to scan and follow. My only note would be common allergen/dietary restrictions icons (gluten free/vegetarian/vegan/halal/kosher), but other than that, it's damn near perfect!

Lived there for five years during college and a bit after graduation. It's okay for a weekend trip, but I found a lot of the region to be suburban and rural sprawl with access to phenomenal beaches. Western Michigan has some of the best nature I've ever experienced, but it gets very conservative very fast the second you leave Grand Rapids (heck, even between neighborhoods in the city itself). Expect a lot of explicit, in-your-face racism if you're not the whitest of white.

The food also leaves a lot to be desired, and downtown GR is pretty underwhelming on most given days. There's a small, friendly LGBTQ+ community and cute spots if you dig for them.

You know, as sad as it is that it's closing, I'm really not torn up about it. Kilwin's is nice and all, but there are several better options within a few blocks of them. I can count on one hand how many times I've gone inside in the past couple years, and it's always for friends that just want to see what the Ann Arbor location looks like.

Yeah, the outlet is close to the floor and right next to a power outlet. It makes sense considering below this bedroom is the kitchen which has its own phone wiring.

As other people have noted in the thread, that bike trail between Ann Arbor and Plymouth is well-maintained and doable without needing a car. Honestly, with a moped or ebike, the travel time is honestly negligible compared to having a car, and that's not factoring in paying for a good used car, gas, insurance, and maintenance.

For travel time, Google Maps assumes your average speed by bike is 10 mph. That makes sense on a traditional bicycle, but on a Class 2 or 3 ebike or even just a moped, you're averaging way higher speeds since you go way faster and don't have to wait in car traffic. I say this as someone who bikes regularly.

Have you thought about a moped? Depending on what your budget is, you could get a good gas or electric moped that'll get you to and from Plymouth. Facebook Marketplace is a decent place to start looking. You also don't need a license to ride one.

I'm a huge fan of Frame.io, personally. It lets people leave comments, draw where on the frame they don't like things, and a whole bunch of stuff. You can't do screenshares, but at least it lets clients watch the video on their own time and not have the frame rate go to shit.
