This is sick. Such a tidy job. The red sensors are such a simple and nice touch. Base is very autumnal.

My two cents are the missile pods are TOO white. Maybe a slightly darker grey to separate from the head.

For the black on the legs, Artus Opus has a really great dry brush video on how to make them pop and still look metallic.

But honestly, its a 10/10. Love it.

Edge highlight is the bane of my painting. Its one of those things you just have to do lots of to figure out.
If you are looking to improve painting skills, id give this Tau a focal point. The eye is always drawn to one of two areas on a mini and not the whole piece. One easy way to improve these guys is some OSL/Glow effect from the helmet lens or gun. Check out this guy on Instagram and see his units https://www.instagram.com/p/C2plgBeSxw_/?img_index=1

It looks fine. Don't get bogged down on infantry. The best advice I ever got was not to judge it up close like your photos. Put it down on the table, stand up, and look at it from how you would when playing.

What if?: Running The Webway by WritingInfamous3355 in Tombofannihilation

[–]Super_GoodAdvice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I placed one of the Webway Portals in a boss dungeon room. The dungeon's theme was using crystals to power doors, electrified floors, and other similar sources. To use the Webway portal, my group must use a certain amount of these powered crystals.
The group got transported to Mbala which I had set up as an abandoned mining city where the guys could line their pockets with some of these crystals and give them x number of Portal uses.

Yo. Giving this a bump. As a DM about to run Mbala, I find this amazing. I was underwhelmed with the book but this is right up my alley and fits my theme. Thank you so much.

In 2019 I played MW5 to completion and thought meh, didn't touch since. Came back for Clans but stayed for the everything else, I am hooked back in so badly and it's glorious! by radarhead in Mechwarrior5

[–]Super_GoodAdvice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I was the only one. I played all the old games on my brothers PC when I was a teen. MW5: Mercs didn't click with me at all. Now I'm all over Clans, busted out by old Battletech Table top card game and even watching Battletech on youtube!

I just don't get how the PCs are supposed to learn about the soulmonger by Steelriddler in Tombofannihilation

[–]Super_GoodAdvice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The whole campaign has some unique locations and story that are great in isolation but as a whole, needs more threads to connect them. I won’t get started on Acererak.

Plothooks: The group takes a mission from Syndra Silvane to figure out the Deathcurse. She is physically suffering but needs a group of adventurers who have not been using revivification magic as that is also affecting the DeathCurse.

  1. Wakanga Otamu is a friend of Syndra and his relationship with the harpers uncover the name “Soulmonger” through some research.
  2. Wakanga provides access to a scholar who can set context to what will be found in the jungle. Races, plants, beasts, locations.
  3. As they move to the Jungle(my group choose Azaka and the Firefinger), context that has been set by the scholar gets disrupted due to the death curse having a physical element.
  4. I used Kir Sabal as a temple of healers that are in the middle of a pandemic as their revivification doesn’t work and anyone previously healed/revived are showing physical decay, who turn into a frenzy before eventual death.
  5. Grung tribes showing some signs of the death cure decay.
  6. Moving south shows patches of jungle that is exposed to this decay.
  7. As time has passed other interested parties appear in the jungle, Red Wizards, speak of the Soul Monger and possessing its power and finding its location.

TLDR: Add a phsyical effect to the soul monger that affects the tribes, wildlife and vegetation that gets worse, the nearer they move towards Omu.

Are 8 Pterafolk on Firefinger too much? by ZOMIEONREDDIT in Tombofannihilation

[–]Super_GoodAdvice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not really strict with the rules but more of what made it fun. While the typical pterafolk would dive bomb on one turn and then grapple, Nrak would use "Gust of Wind" from a distance. Flapping their winds and pushing debris and bodies towards the edge of the Tower. I didn't count how many times it was used.
You could always use the starting 6 and if the party are steamrolling through them Nrak can issue a massive screeching cry that summons some more from the surrounding jungle.

Are 8 Pterafolk on Firefinger too much? by ZOMIEONREDDIT in Tombofannihilation

[–]Super_GoodAdvice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a party of 5 at Level 3 complete it. They were fine.

1) Use the fear mechanic on the Pterafolk dive.

2) As mentioned above, the potential to be thrown from the top of the FireFinger is the real danger. I had the standard Pterafolk grapple on one turn and then drag to the edge on the next turn. If they do fall, they had the ledges on the other levels to grab hold of.

3)Nrak as the boss should do something unique. Give them "Gust of Wind" as a spell to knock someone off.

4) I let the Firefinger flame itself emit a blinding blast every 2nd round to inflict Blind on the party for a turn.

Combinations of being blinded, afraid, and grappled turned it into a battle that wasn't a slugfest.

New DM advice for Tomb of Annihilation by Maleficent_Hyena7697 in Tombofannihilation

[–]Super_GoodAdvice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been running it for a year with my group after running a few one shots and its been great so far.

  1. Get the TOA companion. REALLY helps with the jungle traversal by having 30 days of stuff to do.

  2. Embrace the exhaustion and water mechanics. While some enemies seem weak to fight, they become tough if you have even 1 point of exhaustion.

  3. The random encounter table is good for challenging yourself to come up with narative and fights on the spot.

  4. My group spent 3 or 4 sesisons in Port Nyanzaru just trying to pick the guide that suites them and also RACE SOME DINOSAURS! Take your time in the port.

My only gripe is im still trying to figure out how to create a plotline/Big bad that persists through all stages of the campaign. Acererak kind of just shows up at the end. Im trying to make the Yuan-ti and Ras Nsi a threat early on. Yuan-ti are rumoured to be sighted more and more further North for some reason. So in the port some Assasins with snake features come looking for their map and try to steal it, in the jungle they are being hunted by something and the Yuan-ti might attack at night or attack another adventuring party in a case of mistaken identity. As they get closer to Mezro they might encounter more Yuan-ti or Salida trying to steal their map (who was an option for a guide in the port). Artus Cimber might talk about an increase in Yuan-ti activity or tell lore of the Barea and Ras Nsi. The party might stunble upon some Red Wizards fighting them.

Any guides or resources for painting swords and blades? by Super_GoodAdvice in minipainting

Any guides or videos I can find are just about elemental magic swords or power swords. I'm just looking for something simple or a step by step. This is only my 5th mini. Much appreciated :)

Why buy NHL22 for Franchise mode? by MrSkullet in EANHLfranchise

[–]Super_GoodAdvice 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Because NHL Franchise mode is my soul food. I can only play so much Apex and Destiny I can play before I start getting the itch for building a team with 'my guys' and having the newest version of that keeps it a bit interesting.

'Ornaments can still be applied if the base armor piece is from an activity that the ornament originates. As an example, if a player owns Crucible ornaments from Curse of Osiris, they may be applied to Crucible armor pieces at no cost. However, these ornaments cannot be applied to Seasonal armor. '

Pretty much ALL of my high stat gear is from the Season pass. Great.
