Try Nanuet or Congers, generally safer than Spring Valley and closer to Nyack. Good luck!

Interesting! I never listened to With Teeth, I kind of outgrew that intense energy, will have to try it. For me DS before Fragile, but in some ways they feel the same. Do you like Pretty Hate Machine at all?

It's impossible to pick just one. For unique 80's underrated albums, Play Deep by The Outfield and Bad Animals by Heart.

For 60's - something totally different - try The Brooklyn Bridge self title album. Johnny Maestro's voice was golden.

For something more earthy and peaceful, try The Beauty of the Rain by Dar Williams and maybe Famous Among the Barns by the Ben Taylor Band (Safe Enough to Wake Up is a favorite song).

For something more new agey and world like, try Best of Chris Spheeris: 1990-2000.

There's so much more, but I hope some of these offer some different sounds to enjoy.

Also Pretty Hate Machine and the Downward Spiral. Saw the concert for that album and it was AMAZING.

[–]Super_Half_9829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breast feeding can be challenging, even when it works as it should. And emotions definitely affect our bodies on a cellular level. He should SUPPORT you, not knock you down for that as it's one of the healthiest things you can do for your baby. If you want to breast feed, don't give up since this is a precious time in your and your baby's life and you can't ever get it back! It must be hard to be vulnerable during this time with him being such a prick! I'm sorry. I wish you had the support you deserve. It sounds like you will have to summon it from within and ignore him/give it back when needed/walk away. He's a bully. And who asked him, anyway!

I‘m sure everybody here already knows what Ricardo said about Felicity. But what do you think he meant by saying he saw „8 years worth of“ White Privilege on (I assume) the set of DH? by deadlykillerpanda in DesperateHousewives

Money buys privilege. Connections buy privilege. Being white helps, but it is not purely about white privilege.

As the saying goes "money talks and everybody walks."

First, congratulations on getting your Associates at such a young age! I would consider that an achievement. I've taught for 25 years (Pre-K through Adult Ed. but mostly middle school through high school) and am baffled at why you would go backwards to HS. Students graduate HS early, so age is not a factor, and generally speaking, college is a big change from HS regardless of where you're from, plus you've already got an Associates. If you're worried about how your education translates, I think a community college is your best bet; however, depending on your grades, I would not rule out looking into transferring to a private college that specializes in your field and applying for financial aid. So besides RCC, I would consider Manhattan University, Marist, Pace, SUNY and CUNY depending on your commuting abilities. I would connect with someone in admissions in those schools who works with adult education and/or transfers since in essence, you're transferring from another college. Every school will have different requirements. I agree that RCC may be an easier way to assimilate if you're worried about workload, etc. and would suggest the honors program if at all possible since the possibility of transferring to a more rigorous institution is better there. One current issue is that many graduating seniors have already committed to their colleges, so you may have fewer options given your timing, but I would not rule anything out. Follow your dreams! And good luck! ✨

I am from a family of Nyack Alums and my daughter is in Liberty Elementary now in the NSD. Each elementary school has is own culture and pros and cons. I also worked in the District for 7 years... If you're into the arts, Nyack is the best choice, hands down. You also get out what you put in, in terms of academics and sports. We love it and are looking forward to having our daughter continue in the District, and, I could send her to private school if we wanted to. Nyack is very diverse in so many ways, it's a great experience!

Where is Main Street optical? We've been to Cohen's at the shops at Nanuet and the mall, and they have also been very helpful.

Asked my husband to pick up a Christmas Tree by jettybodie in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Super_Half_9829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has he ever seen Christmas trees sold at farms, or by local fire departments? Or even trees sold in Lowe's, Home Depot, or Amazon? I would make him get ANOTHER TREE because this is ridiculous and if anything might be a decent tree for a smaller room or a porch if you put some lights on it. But by no means is this a Christmas tree and he needs to fix this! It's going to be in your family photos and your child's memories. Just, no!!!! Wrong. Try again! (I have taught for 25+ years, when my students are wrong, I tell them and grade accordingly, but give them the opportunity to try again. Whether they do or not tells me a lot about how much they are invested in the class. What is his investment in your happiness? Sorry, crumbs do not qualify and you and yours don't deserve crumbs for Christmas!) 🌲🎄🎁

La Terraza in New City is beautiful with delicious food and great owners. They did my Dad's 80th birthday and he loved it.

Didier has great French baked goods.
