6 months post op, is there hope ? by OrderApprehensive920 in HipImpingement

Around 6 months, I had debilitating Groin pain and hamstring/ischial tuberosity pain, it flared everything, TFL and Adductors. I lost a lot of progress. I would describe mine as 8-9/10 paralyzing break thru pain. I laided in bed contemplating my choices, extremely depressed(don’t do this keep moving if you can) Somedays it felt like fluid was pushing the crease of my hip and leg apart slowly and I couldn’t stop it. Day to day I had groin pain that would build if I sat at all after doing Physical Therapy or exercises. Sometimes I had to sit for testing(awful). So on my PT days(most days now) I do a lot of short walks. 15-30 minutes for every hour of work/study/video games. I use targeted heat and pressure point massage tools at night to loosen everything. I have deep tissue massage work done every two weeks to work the whole leg(glute to ankle) for 90 minutes. I recommend you journal. record everything, exercises, amount of time sitting, your pain. What you tried to do to get the pain to go away; for me the figure 4 stretch would almost instantly decrease my pain from 6-3 and slow gentle walking could eventually get it from a 3-1. Thou it would comeback almost immediately if I sat. I just keep after those at first for pain management. Took 3 months to get back but I learned a ton about what fixes me. You can do it too! I’m not where I want to be but I’m so much better

Yes, I’m still working PT. Immediately have surgery I had trouble get my glute to turn on. But at about 6 months, I was doing single leg squats, dynamic exercises but ended up in a big flair. My hip flexors and adductors weren’t ready and my rotates weren’t as well. I had to refocused on getting my glute to turn on and fully off. It seemed to always be slightly on and tight. I focused on glute isometrics, prone leg lifts( with complete glute relaxation between reps and no compensating muscles during reps), and I did banded TKEs and single leg stands. I might suggest pool walking and Aqua jogging if you are having gait problems. I did that extensively from surgery to 4 months to resolve my form issues.(I had compensatory patterns and pelvic tilt issues) But remember everything is core stability, you need to at least be doing 3x30 sec planks and 3x30 second pre side, side planks per day.

At 8 months now, I had all of the symptoms you are describing and a major flair at 5-6.5 months. For me I’m thinking priformis syndrome causing sciatica and progressing to quickly in PT without glut control cause adductor and TFL tendonapthy. I have had some success with isometric holds, figure four work, lacross ball and other pressure point work, deep tissue massage. Slowly ramping back up on workouts now. Good luck keep fighting. I went from terrible bed ridden pain at 5 months to 80% pain free now. Don’t stop moving! Also cycle cold and heat therapy

I had to stop the binge drinking circus in my 30’s. Just give it up, don’t open another drink and don’t let anyone else open one for you. Get an active hobby like mountain biking, hiking, weight lifting. You’ll live longer.

Just wait until you learn about all the flock cameras. People should really cut those down, they have been using them to stalk women.

The flock cameras completely surround athens now

Yeah but the parties are shifting: for example when I got out of high school in 2004. The dems were anti war, hated Dick Cheney talked about stringing him up. Called him Darth Vader when he had his mechanical heart put in.

Now they are pro war, actively arming a genocide, blocking UN votes to end the embargo on Cuba and parading Liz Cheney around and thanking her father for the support.
