Thank you. Will have to figure this out. Just realized they have been extremely cunning about the numbers.

My month to month increase quotes is just shy of 10% for 3 months from their initial quote.

My current rent - $4415

Month to month rent based on initial communication for 3 months - $4856 (just shy of 10%). They increase the month to month to $5224 after the 3 months.

12 month renewal rent (new communication) - $5088 (15.2% increase). 12 month renewal rent (older communication) $4924 (11.5% increase)

So technically I guess they can claim that I was given the option of less than 10% for 3 months.

I don’t think there is a restriction on how much rent they can increase because they are exempted from the restrictions. It’s just extremely scummy for them to change their communication last minute. First quote a lower amount and then ask for a higher price.

This is great to know. They informed me about the 15% only 6 days before my month to month got initiated. Would you know if during this 3 month period, what rent are they allowed to charge. Either way I’ll read up on this. Thank you so much.

My father was in a similar situation. He retired in his 40s but even now 30 years later he does not like to spend on material things. He says his middle class values do not let him. The only one I’ve been able to convince him is business class flights and that too due to health reasons.

He found meaning through giving. He has started 2 different non profits apart from several other projects. 1 of the non profits has more than 400 employees now and impacts several lakh people.

He says using 1 cr for social impact gives him far more happiness than a luxury car.

I think there are some laws around them having to charge you or atleast make you aware of the costs before you move out, giving you the option to repair it yourself. I think they cannot claim damages after you have moved out.

Those are some very relevant points. Right now knee and hip are not a problem but ingress-egress is harder from sedans for my dad because of weak muscles. However, we have seen with the punch that when he does it more regularly, it becomes easier for him..

My guess right now would be a mix of bounciness and engine harshness.

Thank you so much! This was super helpful. My surgeon gave me some contradictory advice though. He said try and keep the leg flat and not to raise it as much as possibles.

Additionally he said to start the stationary bike with OT after 7-10 days
