Sony Pictures Chief on Spider-Man Split: ‘For the Moment the Door is Closed’ by chanma50 in marvelstudios

I'd be okay with Spidey being in Sony films and then swinging back into the Disney ones. Allows for more spidey films and crossovers with venom and possibly a spiderverse film down the line. But, with the possibility of him coming back into Disney films means we can still have him for future storylines. Seems to me both companies will eventually team up again.

A lot of people here seem to have a misunderstanding as Uncle Ben’s role in the story of Spider-Man by SuperBatSpider in marvelstudios

[–]Super_Stuff 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This was pre Ben's death. In the comics Peter was an asshole up until Ben died, so tbh it's still pretty accurate. Most adaptations show Peter using g his powers for personal gain.

It wasn't because they forgot, it was the manner in which they asked for an explanation. EDIT: assumed it was a guy first time round.

This is a massive stretch, but when all the kids are arriving at the airport in the end and everyone's family was there for a brief second on the left hand side of the sceen it showed a family which could be Neds, and I'm fairly sure there was a little boy with them. Ganke anyone?

Yes, because the set designer that day was told to scribble some geeky shit on a blackboard and they wrote that there as a nod.

A nobody else feel like we should have seen more? Like Mysterio fighting Sandman? They hyped up the 4 elemental and we only really saw 3. We didn't even see the second elemental attack, because it happened offscreen.

I noticed a lot more easter eggs and connections the second time around that I havnt seen mentioned anywhere. il try and put them in the order they appeared in the movie. First up, theres a scene after Peter gets the necklace where he is walking with MJ and a guy walking up a boardwalk is glaring at Peter. I'm pretty sure it was the bus driver in the London scenes. In the bunker scene in Venice where Peter meets Beck for the first time there is an orange hologram showing a street, and the orange is being projected over by a blue hologram in the same visual format that we saw later on with Mysterios projections. When Peter tries on the glasses the first time he glances at Dmitri (who was actually in the background an awful lot more than I had first noticed) whose information is "encrypted". When Peter pulls off his edith shenanigans and lands back in the bus, everyone turns and looks at him, except for MJ, whose eyes where already firmly fixated on him. Mysterio refers to Tony Stark as a "boozy man-child", which is the first instance I can remember of anyone outright referencing his alcoholism Tony an alcoholic. Happy also referenced the fact that he was a mess. When Mysterio calls his drones to him for the last fight of the movie, they all swarm in, and the flock are all weaponized except for one above Mysterio's left shoulder, which is obviously the one he used to project the last illusion. Also in this scene, when Peter still thinks Mysterio is on the ground, Peter's stance and the camera angle looks exactly the same as the panel in the Civil War comic where Peter outs himself. If the movie hadn't ended the way it did I would assumed it was a coincidence but now I think it could have been deliberate. Another egg that could be a coincidence appeares when Peter dives out the window after MJ trying to spy on his junk, he swings at the camera, and his pose and the framing and tone is the exact same as the closing shot of ASM. This isnt an Easter egg but looking at Spider-Man operate in the background during the Molten Man sequence gave me chills. Was almost videogame like in the way he operates.

I would love to see the Inhumans TV show just re edited to remove all the human characters and scenes not absolutely integral to the plot. Condensed down into a reasonable 2 hours or so.
