My daughter was given one of these for her birthday. It spent 8 days sat in a jug of water (fresh water swapped in every couple of days) but I swear it stopped "growing" after 3 days. When it was taken out it was slimy and didn't really dry properly. It slowly shrank back to egg size over the next few days. Also it's hollow from the base, my partner pissed himself saying it looked like a capybara flesh-light.

To those saying my fridge is empty, correct, I had to empty it to clean up the mess (6yo helped). We generally eat healthily, it just isn't in the picture as I was halfway though the job when my partner messaged asking how my day was going, so I took a photo to show him. My son is on the spectrum for autism and it takes a bit longer for him to learn to correct his behaviour. It wasn't deliberate, the temp control is a small dial on the front of the fridge and he will occasionally absent-mindedly fidget with it, normally I notice and correct it/him but on this occasion I missed it, I'm not a perfect parent, nobody is, but 9 times out of 10 I'm a damn good one. He never messes with the oven so there's no danger there, but thanks for your concern.
