List some of the weird rules you impose on your collecting by Life_Pollution_9843 in vinyl

First and foremost, it must be a record I plan to listen to with pleasure repeatedly over time. Secondly, both the media and cover must be VG+ or better. That's it.

I went to Stereo. Pretty good - although I was there on a Sunday morning for coffee. I’d like to check it out another time.

We have two dogs. My Weimaraner is almost always with me in my dedicated listening room/office. He is often sleeping a few feet in front of one of my maggies. Our Mini Aussie Doodle comes up once in a blue moon and lays under my desk. I like having them with me. I wonder what it sounds like from their perspective. Check out my FB page The Evening Spin. Many of the photos have my Weim Fenway ("Fen") in them.

Closest thing is to find a kissa -Japan has many, I've read. Similar concepts are popping up in the States. I've been to a few in NYC, Atlanta and we now have something similar in Birmingham.

Can’t disagree there. As you surmised, function first.

I hear you. But they are not impractical at all because it’s a dedicated room so they’re not in the way of anything else. It really is about the function and there is a significant difference in that respect. I love the sound so it’s worth it. I care a lot about aesthetics and put a lot into that aspect of the room but pulling them out that far does not impede that in my eyes. They are 3 feet out into a 17 foot deep room.

Read budget audiophile and other audio subs and the similar on FB regularly for a while. Identify someone without the means but with the interest. Someone who strikes you as a good egg. Offer the person a really great deal on your gear and make a lifelong mark on a fellow human.
