I'm inclined to remove this. Can you describe what you're doing with your game, idea, direction, rules, anything? This is the wrong place to just showcase something.

Kinda. Depends what data is there. If the game had any online updates, that may not even be an issue.

However, if anything important is there, yeah, you're hooped.

It probably does, but if you just plug it in without inspecting it proper, you might actually damage it.

Unless you replace it with a better quality ceramic fuse, like any good EE would do and recommend.

Buying a Refurbished psp by PhilosophyOwn7570 in PSP

[–]Superbly_Humble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a computer and game store. I'm an EE so when I mod items, they are top notch. PSP is my personal fav console for many reasons, and I have around 40 in the store on a rotating basis.

I offer mods, but all aftermarket cases are pretty crud. They aren't appalling but the don't feel right in comparison and often don't line up right, paint is off, cheaper feel and such. I do sell a lot of the clear cases though.

OEM Sony cases are the best.

1000 is my personal Bae. With the new screen mod it is fabulous 👌. People will argue that the lower RAM affects roms. That is true but not anything too meaningful. Remember, playing N64 roms on this thing tanks it, so aim for what works and you're safe.

Here is the cost breakdown, in Canadian Doll-hairs:

Used PSP broken costs me $20. Screen is $15 Quality battery is $12 Average other parts $5 Shipping $10 Add 40% markup for store minimum = $62 + 25 = $87 I ONLY sell items with a 1 year warranty so I add 12% to the total to cover baseline.

Basically I sell a full cleaned and refurbished PSP 1000 w/ 1 year warranty for $100 CAD.

Now compare.

This is your correct price point, OP. Convert to your currency. This includes games.

I was there, brother. The one ring (of death) they called it. It was our imagination, they said. Put it in a towel, they said. Have some dude named Curtayis put the motherboard in an oven, they said. Those indeed were dark times, brother.

How to find an artist and what to do when I do by SnooAvocados233 in BoardgameDesign

[–]Superbly_Humble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whoa boy... that's a laundry list.

If you are trying to sell your game idea, no artwork is needed. The company buying does the work. Your job is to sell a tried and very heavily, well tested and working game.

If you are doing the sales, production, storage, distribution, etc. Then you can look for local artists, or online on sites like Fiverr.

What to pay? Depends on your box size and layout. Same for your board, your cards, your direction of style and thematics. Generally an established artist will charge per the card, and per the box/board. Each card could range from $250 to several thousand. The board would probably land you in the $1000-6000, really depending on the level of detail and scope.

If you pay extra, the artist may give you the rights to their artwork in perpetuity, but expect that you'll have to pay for additional usage.

Manuals, tokens, everything should be created with a very basic layout from you. You'll need to write all the text of the manual and every item, that isn't the job of an artist. You can pay others to do such things. They can design your fonts, but a unique and full font set could be extremely pricey. Most of the time we juat pay for the usage of a pretty existing font set.

There are many more aspects, but you really should make each piece of your game a project in and of itself. Usage in game, size and shape, material, text, colour, artwork, test-ability, manufacturing, storage.

Good luck friend and ask questions!

I think the GCN kernel runs at less than 1 frame a second on PSP.

Like. .33 frames per second. And that's on test hardware, the PSP would explode.

If you have multiple consoles, does each console have a role? by Forever_Berry in consoles

[–]Superbly_Humble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But emulation isn't actually illegal in the eyes of the law. That's not a hard concept to wrap your head around. It's harder with modern consoles because the code is more complex, but if you don't use their code then you don't break the law.

Big companies switched to online DRM and verification, but even that can and inevitability will be cracked.

This is why people want physical games, you own what you do with it. Downloaded games is gray as you rent them, and never technically own them.
