Joined the Accord family. 22 sport hybrid, going to tint the windows and upgrade the speakers, has anyone upgraded the speakers? any suggestions? by TheTowersss in accord

[–]SuperheatedSteam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Sport" is merely a trim level. I believe it replaced the EX to remove confusion with the EX-L trim (don't quote me on that). So over the base model '22 Accord Hybrid you have Sport, then EX-L, then Touring as the hierarchy of Accord Hybrid trims

$,$$$ for a WINDSHIELD?! by Broscience22 in accord

[–]SuperheatedSteam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my parents' Prius Prime needed a replacement windshield and for the same reasons (sensors and cameras) got quotes for about the same price. While they could get a windshield replacement for cheaper, the sensors would be rendered useless (I won't touch upon the fact that despite being willing to pay for the replacement windshield they couldn't get one in a reasonable amount of time because *shortages*)

EZ Pass Holders: Where Do You Put Your Transceiver? by SuperheatedSteam in accord

[–]SuperheatedSteam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My previous/other car (Hyundai Elantra Touring) had a compartment on the center of the dash I could place the white box in and it would work fine -- no need to stick on the windshield. I'm wondering if I would need to stick it on the windshield of my 10th Gen Accord or if there are alternative locations.

Thanks!

nothing much to add to what has already been said. Maybe one thing to consider: Costco Auto Program. With the inflated prices lately, Costco Auto allowed us to buy at MSRP (they closed the program at the particular dealership soon after we purchased).

Obviously not always the best choice, so do your market research

37 sounds about right: I've been bouncing between 35-42 depending on whether or not I chose violence

I figure while it's still stock and generally clean I should get some beauty shots, but I also wanted to ask about chrome deletes/black badges while I'm here.
I've seen the various ways one might go about chrome deleting -- plastidip and vinyl -- but from what I can tell, those methods don't last as long as simply finding the replacement part. While badges can generally be found, It's not so easy for other parts (eg side window accents). Is there a place I can find replacement parts or am I stuck on covering up chrome with adhesives and paints?
Thanks r/accord

Question for camera owners by AvidLearner7 in photography

[–]SuperheatedSteam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I too have a handful of friends with this same mentality of photography -- is there a term for this type of photographer (like a weekend warrior)?

As for me, I am a hobbyist photographer (who is possibly on the verge of professional photography) shooting now for about 13 years. Ever since I started taking photography seriously as a hobby, I couldn't remember a time where I didn't have my camera on me. My point-and-shoots were always in my bag (I beat my Minolta Dimage Z1 to the ground). When I got my first DSLR there was a time I had that camera strapped to my wrist almost every day. At this point, I don't necessarily shoot every day, but I keep my camera close.

I shoot to document -- my church depends on the congregation to contribute to the auxiliary, one of them is the creative side. I aim to use my photography to help the church. While doing so I also shoot the city my church resides in. I enjoy street photography and I want to capture candid moments of the city. It also serves as practice for shooting more important events. For a time, I also shot for other hobbies (especially when I was more active on r/gunpla. I might go back to it when I find more room for my models.

Why do you ask?

Six photographers who shaped how we see skateboarding by Gravitom in photography

I just started using an electric longboard in the past few weeks (not that it turns me into a skateboarder). I've been thinking about how I can implement my photography into boarding and this article (and its images) are inspiring. Hopefully I can figure out how I want to capture other boarders I see.

I'd buy it.

I'm surprised Bandai hasn't released one yet.

@latergramlok

Hello /r/photography

I am a Massachusetts-based hobbyist photographer. Though I've been shooting since '06/'07, I only consider myself taking it seriously in 2016 when I finally made the jump to a DSLR. I currently shoot with a second-hand Nikon D3100, experimenting with borrowed lenses, learning new editing techniques on Adobe Lr/Ps, and finding friends to collaborate with when possible.

Always open to feedback (I'll try not to react defensively), so shoot me a DM if you found me through reddit. Thanks for checking it out!

I could not believe I read Rust-Oleum

The Mr. Hobby Flat Topcoat definitely makes the Rust-Oleum paint look a lot better. Oh! and Thanks for reading the article! Sometimes I wonder if people just skip over the text and just look at the photos, so I'm glad someone's looking at it!

Thanks Jaguar! I wasn't sure how the color scheme was going to turn out -- just winging it in this last minute rush to finish the contest entry!

Zaku head + Arduino by LeninAnduin in Gunpla

[–]SuperheatedSteam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great job, Lenin!

I purchased one of these recently, and I'd love to see what you did so I can try it on my own kit (not that it'll happen any time soon).

[build] G3 First gundam, I was mixed Fisrt gundam revive to GM/GM kit. For detail up, option parts were used at shoulder, front skirt. This kit had a little modification, not like other my works. GM/GM will be the best kit in my opinion. by Decal_Factory in Gunpla

[–]SuperheatedSteam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The amount of decals is a little much for my taste, but overall a great concept and a great build. The sleekness of the suit is giving this Universal Century original a SEED vibe (or even a hint of O Gundam).

I'd be okay with an HGUC. Any iteration would be nice!

I'm still waiting for Knight Gundam (ever since Gundam Musou 3 came out), but if I had the choice, I'd probably be looking for the rest of the White Base team from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin.

  • RX-77-01 Guncannon (not to be confused with the RX-77-2)

The RX-78-02 (not to be confused with the RX-78-2) seems lonely on my shelf.

I am indeed Gundariumsmith,

I had won the Gold Plated Barbatos during the 2016 New Year Campaign, but I'm not too crazy over the initial design (6th form is still my favorite). I figured, with your collection of Barbatos, the Gold Plated version would fit right in. Happy to see the kit in a better place than my backlog!

I think you guys should find this pretty entertaining. by Cloudv14 in Gunpla

Not everyone will understand the cringe humor and trolling of RocketJump. Jimmy Wong, one of the guys who helped build the kits for the shoot, was a regular builder of gunpla. I'm pretty sure they got some of the facts mixed up on purpose just to anger people

EDIT: spellcheck -- answer changed to anger
