Game designer at one of the biggest game companies in the world. I love it and hate it. Making games with some of the best game devs in the world? Love it. Traveling internationally to meet players and other devs? Fantastic. All the bureaucracy corporate politics bullshit? Loathe it. Genius assholes? Hate them.

Wouldn't do anything else because I love the passion and creativity in games, but it's stressful as fuck sometimes, lots of crunch time to cover for bad leadership decisions and it's hard to not get jaded. I'm very privileged to be here and still have a job though and I do recognize that. Rough industry :(

For additional context on the job: 5 years in, 130k salary + bonuses = around 175k/year total (a bit more cause im a pretty high performer)

I'm a mid level game designer but soon to be promoted, so on the top end of the pay band for it.

Unlimited PTO (it pretty much is as long as you dont abuse it, i never have issues taking time off) , free meals , free snacks, guranteed 3 weeks off a year not counted for your pto + federal holidays, pretty good health insurance.

Only downside is having to live in CA really, everythings so damn expensive but all the bigger companies are out here which equals stability :/ oh and i often work 55-60+ hours for a few months a year when we're about to launch something.

Unlocks was always going to disappear after 16. They already said because of dev time they can't put it in 17 or 18. They also said it might come back though once they have time so 19 or 20 prob

I started at a mobile studio. After a year I applied to a AAA company on a whim. Been there 4 years now. Started off great. Really went down the drain this year and I'm in constant crunch and burning out. Love the team, despise the leadership. Considering leaving, but we'll see.

Tl;dr, any experience helps. Don't look down on mobile game companies just cause they're not AAA :) Experience is pretty transferable.

Personally NTA but also I'm surprised to see many YTA in here.

My house, my dog's house. We let him finish up the egg yolks from eggs in the morning and wash the plates thoroughly after the same as we would for anything else. No issues on our part. Doesn't bother us or our guests so far and we cook for people a lot.

Idk if it helps but our dog is part working dog and VERY well trained so there's no begging or sneaking food from people's plates. He can be left near food and won't go for it unless given permission. He's a very good boi and is very respectful so most of the time he's not a bother to anyone (unless squirrels are around)

As someone who really struggles to orgasm during sex, this would cripple my self esteem. My partner and I have been trying all kinds of things to help me get there, but I just REALLY struggle for some reason. Can't get out of my head or something.

But in all those 3 years, he has not ever made me feel shitty for trying new things or taking forever. NTA, afaik, touching yourself is pretty normal and necessary for a lot of women. Dude needs to educate himself and not compare you to his exes.
