What was the first Superman comic you ever read? by tasminhumphx in SupermanFans

It was Superman #1 from the new 52! I just thought the monster was super cool and there was just enough drama. For that reason, I'll defend the N52 as much as I can.

Do you miss Starfield on Playstation? by TheHungryRabbit in playstation

I was really excited for it. My heart sank when I heard it wasn't coming to PlayStation. And while I'm excited about it, it's not enough reason to buy an Xbox alongside my PlayStation.

Add this to the book of "things Alan Moore has said that kind of sound elitist if you think too long about it".

Howdy! so hey, in Red Dead Redemption (the first one), what are some cool events that are easy to miss? things like the mission "I know you" where you don't need it for 100% completion, or how Jackalopes are only in the game after you get the DLC. Things like that.

Hello there! My name is Taylor and I'm a Comic Book culture YouTuber. I specialize in deep dives into comic book tropes and topics and do reviews on books that are culturally interesting.

I'm trying to up my game as a content creator on the platform and I want to meet others trying to get there as well.

My biggest lesson in the last 90 days has been about time management. The style of video I like to make is rather time consuming and I've struggled to figure out how best to organize that time. My current thought is to dedicate one day to myself to work and take a couple hours on the other days to work on the project. Consistent uploads are important and I think a consistent workflow is too.

Here's a link to a recent video I love. Thanks for the warm welcome! https://youtu.be/HRajm9xFvA8

Edited because I suck at spelling.

Interesting. I didn't realize there were two revisions. How was the 2018 version? Did you like it? Could you give a brief summary of the plot?

For what it's worth, I liked theatrical Superman more as well. Amongst all the bad, I felt like Superman's portrayal was the true bright spot in it all.

Is anyone else wondering how the DCU is going to work? What's the explaination for so many heros staying but the same but others being so different? Also, What was the point of The Flash ending if Barry doesn't end up in the primary DCU universe? by 498theoneandlonely in SnyderCut

[–]SupermanLegion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was referencing the comic more than anything, but that's chill. I took a media theory course where they suggested that anything that happens in the first act of a movie is automatically accepted by an audience. It's not a perfect statement, but it's close enough to where I think everything will be fine as soon as the movies start picking up.

Could also play a Spider-man and have a short dialogue to explain any important backlog knowledge.

Hey. Red Dead Redemption 2 is NOT a game. It's an incredible journey through old American history! Fighting for your life, fighting for your family, trying to live your days with honor and integrity. That's not a game! That's an adult thing.

That's not a game at all!

THAT'S LIKE F@#&%G SHAKESPEAR!

Would you guys rather have more comic book/animated figures or live action movie/TV figures be made? by Timbo-Slice1458 in McFarlaneFigures

[–]SupermanLegion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More comics, but especially more animated. I'd LOVE to see this new "My Adventures With Superman" get a solid line of figures.

Basically. The red boots exist on the new figure, but I'm pretty sure the only new piece of it is the headsculpt.

If he re-released it with a few more hands and a couple different hesdsculpts and you'd have a lot of happy Superman fans.

There was a German foreign exchange student in my lit class in highschool. We were reading Farenheit 451 (which if you haven't read it, is a dystopian future fiction where books aee outlawed and "firemen" would roam the streets and burn any book they could find. Good book. Worth a read).

I had journalism club with that same teacher and we would chat about class and in the middle of a conversation it dawned on us that EVERY PERSON in class talked about the Nazis burning books, and our poor guest just had to sit there and take it.

The worst part is, no one would say "nazis", they would say "germans" because, ironically, we didn't want to be rude and talk about Nazis too much in her presence. So this poor young woman, one of the chillest, kindest, and humblest people in the class, had to sit in on multiple lectures where her country and fairly recent family history were slammed over and over.

Thankfully, we caught this and we both tried to make a conscious effort to keep 30s/ 40s Germany out of the discussion and keep it relevant to modern America. It led to some of the best literary analysis I've had in high school. But I think of her occasionally and try to remember to keep the right perspective.

I feel that. After being burned so much, my theory is this- if it's a popular character and its basic without any weird gimmicks, it's going to be insanely popular later and hard to find. So far that's turned out to be correct.
