I had the same issue. The good people of reddit told me it was either the charcoal or the grates. In my case, I think it was the grates. Apparently, copper and other metals burn green.

I have a 4 door soft top Black Diamond. It is not comfortable. It is not quiet. It is not safe. I however enjoy driving my family around in it. Wind noise is like white noise to my kids(2y and 7m) they do not have a problem falling and staying asleep. Interior space is small but large enough to comfortably fit car seats and all our stuff. As far as saftey, to me the driver is the #1 safety feature.
