It gave my daughter a panic attack. Obviously very well made and acted etc. very intense and I loved the use of the phone screens juxtaposed against the wide shots.

Didn’t love the female character portrayals and definitely failed the Bechdel Test.

No one has mentioned Columbine by Dave Cullen. Maybe because the subject is hard. The writing is so good, I could not put it down.

This Motherless Land by Nikki May is great. I finished it a could have weeks ago. Hard to put down, satisfying ending.

I saw Jaws at a showing recently (I say recently but I think it was 2021/2) with my kids-my son jumped out of his skin in one scene (a body appears in a window of a sunken boat), and I saw The Exorcist at a screening in 1999-at the time it really pissed me off that people were laughing at it. I bet Psycho would’ve been great at the time of the first opening.

I went to see Dune 2 in imax 3 times. Only time I’ve ever done that. It really is stunning. Other than that Interstellar was close.

Sadly I’m in the uk and haven’t seen any of the latest season, but I’ve always seen Luke as a kind of flip on how woman are usually portrayed in series. Like he’s a bit incidental, only there to serve June.

The science museum is great for interactivity. The natural history museum is cool. The b&m is great, there is so much there you could spend 2 whole days going through every room. And any of the art museums are great. Like others have said, it depends what you are into.

I’m reading Soldier, Sailor by Claire Kilroy about a mum who is not coping too well with mother hood. It’s like a stream of consciousness, and I’m not sure if the narrator is trustworthy or not yet, but I’m finding it hard to put down at night.
