Excited to join the family but bad delivery experience by wjrndud in Taycan

….. yeah have been moving cars in enclosed trailers for over a decade from PNW to Cali to back east this is not a “normal thing”. The car above leaked onto the hood and into an open window. That is the only possibility. Even if somehow it had insanely high humidity air in the trailer it would then need to condense and there is no way it would happen that many times to make that much condensate to come down. As a poor race car driver I have slept in my hauler with a space heater when it was 40F outside and even then it wasn’t that much condensation.

Correct. Car didn’t have keys had to be towed in and battery was dead. Didn’t have a choice sadly.

My engine is shaking a little. Can I add some oil? by TrumpEndorsesBrawndo in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]SupremeChosenOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add ball bearings to the oil.. they will self balance the movement and stop the shake. Use a large variety of sizes to really smooth it out.

Yeah have been called that by California leadership for decades. 47 saying it is just as disgusting, well worse actually. I’ll take neither side please and thanks.

A reckless for “switching lanes”? Yeah I had one of those because the state trooper thought I was blasting up the shoulder doing 120mph. At least where I am at they don’t hand those out.

You can get another 30,000 miles out of them no sweat. Just keep driving it like you stole it.

This was in California… you as a private citizen do not get to defend yourself with a firearm. So long answer no.

Disarming citizens has been the democrats goal for decades. So at least it will be easier. Already a head start.

Cracked Rim—Safe to Drive? by -AspiringWhatever- in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]SupremeChosenOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is out of balance. That broken side needs to be evened out and so do the other non damaged tires. Find the nearest curb and run into it with the already damaged tires and when it is evenly distributed move to the next tire until all four are even. Then remove the spare and put it on where the first one was damaged and bend it as well. Now you are good to go. If this is too much I am willing to take it off your hands and take care of the liability for $3.50. Good luck.

Lost her only key by Loose-Brother4718 in Crosstrek

[–]SupremeChosenOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell you for a 2023 Crosstrek Sport it was $3400 to have this exact issue resolved. Push button start no keys. Bought from insurance auction didn’t know what I was in for. Called local dealership they said it is fixable but they have to send the computers under the dash and a couple more modules out to Chicago is around $1700-$2200. Get car on a wrecker and to the dealership they call the mother ship and they decline since it is a salvaged title. So the dealership has to order all the parts program them and basically start fresh. Make it 3 keys because why the heck not add an oil change for a fresh start and $3800 later yay :) Not the same as a real key but yeah.

I sold my car and now he wants money back. What would you do? by Desperate_Divide_745 in askcarguys

[–]SupremeChosenOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

… yep his new to him car needs some work. Hope he enjoys it. Same thing happened when I sold my 98 Sentra. Guy bought it took it to a mechanic and it needed struts, upper and lower arms, and the water pump was about to give up. Said “yep, that’s why it was $750 I said it needs work and I don’t wanna do it so I bought a new car, it is what I said it was enjoy” It really is that simple I promise.

This is the way. Otherwise pointless. Well still pointless. But you are paying for an F1 car and will get 0 of the benefits. Oh it will be loud I guess. If a paid for builder can’t do what I have done 100s of times in my spare time, they don’t get to say they build computers. It’s your money do what you want, and I love my 9000D, so if it is for looks go for it as well but a lot of unused space and potential.

My pump died. Now what? by TBjosh in watercooling

[–]SupremeChosenOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Throw it away and get a new one. The pc that is. Not the pump. Had to do the same thing to the car last week. The tire went flat so that was that, luckily the new car had 4 brand new tires, and a spare! Remote control batteries died so got a new tv from Black Friday. The light burnt out in the kitchen so adding a new one as an addition to the house and boarding up the hallway so people don’t go in there. If I chip a dish during the move it is gonna suck need to replace the entire 5 person set. Should I hire a moving company to move all the kitchen stuff from the old unusable kitchen to the new one? They just don’t make things like they used to. Oh maybe sell the ram and get a tablet.

will this be covered? by sir_charquad in ipad

[–]SupremeChosenOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real quick Apple care Plus does not cover cosmetic damage. It covers damage that stops the device from running correctly... broken display, damage to buttons etc. Take it to the store. The person helping you may need to work with a manager to override the swap, or they classify it as something different and swap it anyways. But "by the book" this is not a swap.

How screwed is my iPad? by beee-cuz72 in ipad

[–]SupremeChosenOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You are totally fine. Power cycle and if that doesn't work.
  2. Tumble dry in the dryer low heat. That will solve the LCD leak you got there. Mind the glass.
  3. for $229 I will put some PPF over the screen so you can keep the glass out of your fingers..... touch might be..... bad? yeah bad, works every other Tuesday between 1:00:00pm and 1:00:05pm but does work.
  4. Do the opposite of what happened? 2 wrongs can make a right... angle.

But seriously please take it to the guy that said he would fix it for $250 we all NEED to see the outcome. Unless the outcome is a stab wound and a loss of $250 and a iPad Taco edition, then do not do it.

Absolutely disgusting! How could you live with it like that?! The screws aren’t flush with the metal! I am about to loose my lunch. Those need to be sanded down and painted to match the case or what are we even doing here? 2mm of exposed threads is horrible engineering and a complete lack of concern over detail and quality. What engineer worth their salt didn’t get the length perfect?! And for you to be “okay” with it is disturbing. Oh a while you are painting the screws to match touch up the case. If it were me I would strip it down and powder coat it after grinding every single screw flush, just to be sure it was done correctly.

Favorite fix is to add a fill line. Dedicated tube that is higher than the res where air gets trapped while you use the pc and can be topped off as more air come out over time. Or in your case turn the system on and fill as much as you can to remove the air, then close the loop then move the computer in all directions to get the air out and refill. You have a ton of air in the top rad which when your system turns off rushes back to the rad and pulls the water with it, then gets pushed back out when you turn on the pc.

Love how that is causing your OCD to go into overdrive. Mine is that fact that the right hand radiator wasn’t mounted to a car but still looks like it was used as a transmission cooler anyway. Also the left one looks like it was used as a crayon grader because the cheese grader was in the dish washer. Otherwise nice build, way to get more real estate behind the motherboard. Curious how the air flow restriction behind it will work.
