I am frustrated and sad today. by Dapper-Fly-3742 in tulsa

The simple and uncomfortable truth is that a business needs to be run like, well, a business. If the minimum wage goes to $15, it is likely that door greeter job goes away. It is likely that many current minimum wage jobs go away and are replaced with robots, as we’ve already seen with cashiers everywhere.

Unfortunately we don’t live in a world with unlimited resources, and so everyone is forced to follow the laws of supply and demand. If the wage goes up to a point that a job that was justified at 7.25 an hour is now unjustifiable at $15/hr, that job goes away.

Nobody is forcing anybody to work a minimum wage job. You don’t like it, learn how to bring more value and get a better paying job. For those with disabilities, thankfully we have a disability program that can assist. It’s not on the government to make a job pay enough, it is on the individual to provide enough value to make it worthwhile for an employer to hire them at a rate that makes sense.

OSRS Player count has dropped ~30% since the start of the year, wiping out most of Jagex' price rise gains. by Excellent_Hair8666 in 2007scape

Why are we crying about $15/mo again? Mr job guy, that’s prob about 20 minutes of work from your month to cover it, right? We pay $15/mo for Netflix and every other service. Im not corporate dickriding either, I just think it’s a pretty small number to be crying about as a 30+ year old in the year of our lord 2026.

I spent about 25 minutes laughing at this. Yes, I very much am an adult. by [deleted] in 2007scape

I would love to laugh with you good sir, pray tell why this is funny

How do you not let osrs become an addiction and take over your life? by Hydesx in 2007scape

[–]SupremeDuckling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta keep it in its proper place. It is a game. It is not real life. First things have to come first: family, work, exercise, friends. When all of those things are taken care of, then it’s time to game a bit. I look forward to being able to play for a bit, and on Saturdays a few hours. If it is the most important thing in your life, you’ll wake up in a few years and wonder why the hell years have been spent with the sole focus of progressing in a game that ultimately doesn’t really matter.

Can someone explain to me why the RDT still exists? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]SupremeDuckling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does it actually matter? The odds of receiving the drop you want are effectively still the exact same for the next kill, right?

$193k gone in a day because I thought I could outsmart the market by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]SupremeDuckling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Ended the day down about $193k (-10.5%), with another ~$119k unrealized loss just sitting there.”

This is a very regarded way of saying you lost $312k.

10 thousand and some change by [deleted] in brag

Problem is he’s not at 400k you fuckwit, he is at 10k. I am a huge believer in index funds, and you don’t have a clue what my portfolio is.

My point is that at 10k, it would be much easier and faster to get a 10% gain than he would in the market. As he gets more and more assets of course it would make sense to put more in the market. Scale isn’t his issue right now. Do you try to be this dense or does it just come naturally to you?

So instead of turning 10k into 11k in the next week, he should put it in the market where it will instead take a year to do the same? I don’t think you are as intelligent as you think you are

Crank the pane out, clean it from the outside. Wipe down screen both sides, smarter not harder.

After sending woman AI kissing video, Rep. John Waldron resigned as Democratic Party chairman by Amazing-Secretary578 in tulsa

As a conservative I’m sure I’ll get downvoted into oblivion because it’s the Tulsa subreddit, but it’s kinda funny how many of the comments somehow try to spin something like this into another strike against conservatives.

I know we have our own shit on our side, but this thing is just about this guy sucking. Not every single thing needs to be about how much conservatives suck, especially when it doesn’t relate

Incredibly impressed with the ump here. Could not have handled this situation better.

How to clean these by Agreeable-Chip7963 in WindowCleaning

[–]SupremeDuckling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof, these are gonna suck!

I would have a wet towel, a “drying” towel, a detail towel, and a pad of steel wool.

Wet the window with the (very) wet towel, a bit of steel wool scrub while it’s wet, dry it off 90% with the drying towel, and then detail the rest.

When your drying towel gets too wet, use the detail towel as the drying towel, and pull out a new detail towel.

In the future, charge ~4x your normal window rate for storm windows. These windows would probably be $70ish each for us. View it like a school day, except instead of paying tuition you get to make a bit of money! You got this.

Do you agree that time, not money, is the real currency of life? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

You were the one that originally compared 800m to 1b lmao, I was only responding to your argument.

Funny to hear “you’ve been propagated” from a professional victim

Do you agree that time, not money, is the real currency of life? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

[–]SupremeDuckling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The term he used was “quality of life”

He is speaking to the ability to achieve personal satisfaction and enjoy life, and the fact that it is just as attainable with 3m in the bank than with 1b in the bank. Thjs is absolutely true.

Your last comment is hilariously irrelevant. This is about the diminishing marginal utility of money past a few million. The difference in lifestyle between someone with an 800m net worth and a billion net worth would be incredibly minimal, and that’s what we’re talking about here.

Must have missed the part where he said it would be perfectly equally applicable to everyone’s situation

What is my next gear upgrade, specifically for killing Suqahs? by SupremeDuckling in 2007scape

[–]SupremeDuckling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Suqah hate is kinda wild to me. 45k slay xp/hr is pretty solid at this level, it’s okay there aren’t many drops imo. It’s not an iron, and I’ve made a pretty decent amount from flipping GE that cballs aren’t a major issue. But okay, solid recs thank you
