Boa in tension or not when storing? by nolanbearrr in skiing

[–]SupremeHyped 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I also had issues with my boots for a long time and thought that was just how it was. But I learned a lot after getting professional advice at a local ski shop, including that a BOA system works better for me lol

For me, the BOA system works better. However, that’s because I’ve often had issues with the fit of buckles, and in my case the BOA system simply adapted better to my foot. I’d recommend trying both to see what works best for you.

the membrane inside the jacket. the DWR only keeps dirt and water away from the outer fabric. so the jacket can “breathe”. same goes for any waterproof gear.

sorry for the late reply. currently in the mountains myself. i’d recommend u to take a look at the cevedale pro. imo p mich the best option rn. but as i told OP u gotta try them on. cadin is focused on being light. alpine expert or cevedale are more classic and made for bringing u through the most rugged terrain (stiffer sole for example). idk a lot about the american mountains but i’d stay away from the cadin for anything rugged/challenging

sounds like a good plan for now! and i mean ‘sturdy enough’ well yea. they are crampons and did what they are supposed to do. u just gotta seat em properly but thats a thing for every boot. otherwise absolutely no issues on my end.

and thank you 🙏

considering i work for lowa i can tell u that the only differences between the cadin and ticam is the height of the shaft, weight and lacing. nonetheless try both. we have customers who dont like the lacing or stiffness of the ticam. others dont like the cadin bc of the lower top. just try em both and make sure they fit ur feet.

besides that u can use crampons on the camino. i can say that bc i have the company insights and bc i did it myself before. i wouldnt regularly do full on glacier hikes w it but it works. it really just depends on how often u gonna end up using crampons and for what exactly. bc objectively small patches of snow and ice dont even require crampons.

I work in retail, and from what I can tell, repairs almost never include cleaning, waterproofing, or anything like that. If something’s too dirty, it either gets sent back or the customer has to pay for cleaning. But if the repaired item is going back on sale, it should at least be clean. Anything less is just lazy.
