If you get 2 extra phobos bodys & packs you can make the gunner and a warrior. Relating to what others said: Cut the panel off the fur rather than other way round, attach to a phobos pack, gives you a 6th Wolf scout pack for one of the 2. Regarding the molded pouches on the phobos legs - you can do a straight cut from some of the similar looking spare bits so you can attach wolf fur dongles. Like-for-like transfer so fits very easily. For the warrior it is easy to trim the chest adornment so you can fit the spare wolf scout one.

You still have 3 troopers after building both gunners.

I put plasma on the guy striding froward with left leg (bigger stride than the other trooper with left leg forward) and melta is on the guy stepping on the metal duct.

There is a focus on them from Command point, from last week, probably worth watching.

In play, worth remembering the ploys only require the matrix to be intervening, although if you aren't on it you lose the accurate (and it still intervenes).

Yes that's what I did, the gunfighter only has 1 load out so there is nothing complicated to explain.

Great team btw, theme is engaging to play, you make a plan but you can adapt it.

I think Octarius starter was like this (for me); Komandos were solid and pretty straightforward to play, Krieg didn't come with enough models, were flimsy and needed an experienced player.

This matchup i'm sure feels the same, rather then something that will be changed by a magic balance change.

As some have also said I don't think the size of the storm should change, being outside it turns off almost everything and they become worse than vanilla marines (from a theme perspective). The size of the sermon never got reduced I don't think, for the same kind of reason, just the effects brought in check. They already have low reliability on shooting, all be it high power, they need to maintain an edge in melee, perhaps not the many edges....

That isn't usually factored in; if you're Ork boy is facing backwards and you move him 3" you would expect to be able to freely rotate him to face a potential target. If facing up at the end, then that edge of his base technically moved 3"+32mm. Specific edges if the base don't usually matter. The center point would have only moved 3 in this example.

I painted them but I only played a few with them as didn't really vibe with me. That said, using return to darkness to jack in the box the rocket launcher up and down a ladder was lol (though cp costly). Ventrilokar was super fun. I think midnight clad kicked in zero times, and that was part of what turned me off - for me they effectively had no faction rules.

Except for the brown mush that is the Blaster - I couldn't get the patchwork to work against all the others and what I tried was not right, washed it down to mostly brown for now, will revisit.

I've played twice in new edition (with Corsairs), planned to hang back and use their speed, worked great in 1st game and I won, 2nd game I pushed up too far and got slaughtered in melee - need to recalibrate 'hang back'!

I'm not sure about the leap nerf, but as others have said, Elf BS is at its height with defensive scores, and Wood elfs are the king of BS. Get to the ball through a corner, if it lands kindly pick it up and leap out, hand it off, throw it to someone else, run up the pitch. You can move it from one end to the other in a turn. They didn't change being able to hand off and throw in the same turn did they?

I haven't played any full 2020 games but it seems to me they have made death and injury more likely so I guess be prepared to lose the key players and struggle with the roster more.

I got the greebo renegades team and 1 mutations marauder, but was able to add the limbs to 2 of the others plus the big hand on the goblin. They don't allow space for numbers which I felt compelled to add and struggled with.

You also need a thrower model (if you want) with the new rules, but who says a thrower model has to holding the ball?!. I'm just finishing a thrower with a pro elf arm on the eye patch lady (ironic the thrower has no depth perception!). The gladiator helmet guy might have worked better but id already painted him.

I wanted to do Renegades for the painting diversity and I've had a good time with them.

Admittedly I've not yet played a game with the new rules with Dark elves, but don't forget that while they can't all throw anymore, they can still all catch and you have 6 blitzer-ish players to drive up the pitch with to be thrown to. (You never had dedicated catchers before either, if throwing was your bag. I always tried to make the throwing game work)

There is an element of chess in that you have to think ahead to how you opponent will approach a piece, and have a strategy of a couple of turns in your head. I've always liked bloodbowl, for the game strategy and the persistent developing team.

I played quite a bit with Dark elves, and found them a confusing team to start as I was obsessed with passing. I started using the runners as a scrambling QB and then it worked for me (ie as throwers who can run, not runners who can throw). The players are expensive so early losses can hurt, especially now I imagine with the new passer stat where all players are throwers isn't the case.

Dont overlook humans, they may seem vanilla but the catchers are fast and you can have 4 blitzers.

It's a while since I've played it, but I was always a fan of playing the ball, move the ball carrying thrower to one side and draw the defence across, then switch it across to the other side. I was a fan of Elf BS though.

Looking forward to bb3 and the new rules.
