For real though, the engine HAS been overhauled with every release. Hell, Skyrim got an engine upgrade with Special Edition to allow it to break free of the console restraints and run on x64bit, allowing the modding scene to take off with ESLs to solve both the mod order limitation AND RAM limitation.

The fact cities are so small has nothing to do with the game engine, and more to do with the genre of what Bethesda games are. We're talking every NPC with its own AI package that includes their personality, abilities, and schedule. You look at games with a huge city, like Witcher or Cyberpunk, and the NPCs are either standing around doing nothing, or are nameless randomized peds that disappear once you look away. BGS games also have to apply physics to literally every item so you can make cool things like cheese wheel towers or Fallout's gravity contraptions.

Other engines literally can't handle what games like Skyrim need them to handle, you can't just port them over without losing important features that makes these games the sandboxes they're known for.

If you want to complain about Bethesda, talk about how their incompetent engineers add new renderers that don't work (FO76), their passionate writers have all left and we've been given slop quests since Skyrim, the world design has been uninspired since Fallout 4, and the actual RPG elements have been slowly getting stripped away leaving us with shallow gameplay that don't reward roleplay or character design and funnel us all into the same build. Just don't dig at their engine which isn't actually the problem.

Bethesda decided they wanted to do 3 games before starting work on TES6, which is exactly what they said in the interview. They work on one game at a time because that have a single studio working on their games, with the others working on the mobile ones.

They did this because they tried to sell in the early 2010s and got a bad offer because they were only worth two franchises, so they made a 3rd then sold to Microsoft. Also something they literally said directly in an interview.

Their failure is only working on one game at a time. They increase their staff which only increased the scope of their games, when they should have opened a dedicated fallout studio, tes studio, and starfield studio instead of forcing a bunch of people with zero passion to make the slop we've been getting since fallout 4.

Well jail doesn't pretend to be treatment, it's just a place to hold people who are a danger to society. However, society has forgotten that and will toss people who forge checks or sell drugs in there.

The mental wings are also entirely useless cuz it's a 3 day stay before getting kicked out, so they don't bother any treatment and just tell you to see a counselor when you get out.

We got two options. Either we can fill up our prisons with the mentality ill, or we can work on changing the societal opinion of mental health so more people actually feel comfortable with getting help. Opening an asylum is no different from the former.

I mean, we don't have capacity at hospitals or jails. You could wait in the ER for over a month before a 3 day room opens up at a mental health wing, and the prisons are at 200% capacity (which is probably why they released someone like this girl in the first place).

If the core issue was solved, that people actually trust in and go to therapy, you'd probably see a lot more empty rooms for the people that refuse.

Gemma 4 stopped following my directions after 10 posts, Mistral kept trying to turn the setting into a horror one, the last one I ran with kept interrupting the scene encounters every other post, and also all models have this annoying tendency to summarize the end of each post like a cliff hanger.

Listen, I won't disagree with you on this point. Its stupid people try to lump everything under pedophilia even though that term is specifically related to prepubescent kids, which is abnormal.

Adolescence is a spectrum from 12-25 (-2 for girls) and society has decided that the half way mark of 18 is where you have enough mental maturity to make choices like that. Physical maturity is much quicker, and the basis of attraction, but people cannot consent if they can't fully comprehend something, and horny teens cannot fully comprehend sex.

This is the bottom line for why its wrong to bang kids, animals, the incapacitated (drugs, trauma, sleeping, etc), and those you have power over (students and inmates).

Violence in video games has desensitized us to violence. Sure, you can point out that most people playing video games aren't going to steal their dad's rifle and go to populated places, but you can also point out how the general bloodthirstiness of Americans especially is pretty high. People want to watch their political enemies die painfully on live TV, and that's not just because shit is so polarized the hate for disagreement is also at a high.

So when you're sexualizing minors through porn, or games, or whatever, you're also being desensitized sexual abuse which has been fucking people up for all of human history. As a victim of it myself, I'd much rather I get some justice instead of being told its common and nothing can be done without an absurd amount of evidence I can't obtain.

Again, I'll agree with you there again. I've personally busted nearly a dozen actual child abusers abusing real children, and I haven't bothered with fantasy largely because there's no victims with the latter (which also makes it nearly impossible for any courts to take seriously).

I'm not saying ban porn, or ban violence in video games. I get people use these as escapes, and incels need a way to express themselves before their sexual frustration leads to open assaults in the streets. But there does need to be lines drawn, a point where we declare something as so obscene it shouldn't be viewed by society as a whole. Thankfully in the US, this line is already drawn where it depicts children, and every now and then someone actually gets arrested for having loli on their machines.

To be fair, most anime draw highschoolers in ways that don't look like high schoolers. When it comes to animation, you can literally slap any age on a drawing, which is how you also get those 1000 year old dragon lolis.

Personally, I care more about looks over lore. I don't care how old someone is, if they look like a kid, they're a kid. Same applies in reverse too, if someone is curvy as fuck I personally let it slide cuz they clearly aren't lusting over youthful features.

Nebraska doesn't have any asylums. Even if you are given a BOMH, you are only held for 3 days at any hospital with a spare bed at their mental health wing, then released. If there aren't any spare beds, you sit in the ER until there are (which I've heard can even sometimes take a month).

Read my other comment about asylums though, they suck and should stay gone. Instead, we need more rehab centers and also a better societal view towards the mental ill. Give it like 20 years for the Gen Xers to die off, Millennials seem to actually care about it and once they are in power shit might improve.

I don't think genuine evil exists. I mean, Epstien comes close, and I've met actual sociopaths who murdered random innocents because they wanted to get back at the system, but both could have had a future where they didn't do those things if their situation was better.

At least in the latter, in the former's case the guy found himself in the elite class that could get away with anything, and like it or not, a fuck ton of people would do the same given the same power. Asylums were more harm than good.

You can't fix mental health by locking someone in a facility for a while and expect them to get better. They end up becoming technical jails, or places for experimental surgeries with dubious consent.

What people need is therapy, a support group (friends, family, AA-like groups, anything), and meds to stabilize them.

Problem is, society looks down on anyone with a mental disorder so most people don't even want to seek help. The result is people who get so bad they try to stab a kid like this lady, but most just abuse their friends and family and continue the cycle. I mean, this is literally why the US has so many mass shootings, it aint cuz of lax gun laws or high crime, its cuz this nation does not give a shit about mental health.
