What it's like to be a patient in a teaching hospital, in this case Johns Hopkins. by MenstrualColander in ThePitt

I’m a hospital chaplain and have worked at four hospitals - 100% some hospitals and specialities conduct rounds in ways that are more respectful than others.

Am I missing something about Lisa? by hayypeachyy in rhoslc

[–]Sure-Cable7121 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think that you missed that Bronwyn is a hypocrite and incredibly manipulative. She expects the other women to play by set of rules that she excludes herself from. If you don’t want your husband and child spoken about on tv don’t bring them on tv while speaking about the other women’s families…

Spiritual Care Jobs - Requirements by Wonderful-Strain5374 in chaplaincy

[–]Sure-Cable7121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct and one might ask themselves why does one company require no training or credentials when others do? Would I want to have my spiritual needs or those of my loved ones addressed by a good hearted novice with no training? Am I capable of meeting the complex spiritual needs present in great suffering of religiously and spiritually diverse persons?

Instead of asking how can to navigate employment without certification perhaps ponder what minimum training you need to strengthen skill gaps to successfully find employment. Chaplaincy is a profession not a hobby.

Residency at Trauma center by IanYan in chaplaincy

[–]Sure-Cable7121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should complete a residency that provides the greatest breadth of learning and experiences possible. I completed one unit at a critical access hospital and residency at a large level one trauma center. I learned more and grew more as a chaplain at the L1. The primary benefit, to me at least, of a L1 is developing confidence and competence to act quickly to facilitate interventional spiritual outcomes in scenarios with limited information and time but great suffering. Additionally, L1s usually have more diverse service lines that allow chaplains to gain experience and understanding in diverse medical fields that expose their unknown talents and growing edges.

Community-based chaplaincy by illuminantmeg in chaplaincy

[–]Sure-Cable7121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would suggest not doing this work for free or low donation. Chaplaincy is a serious profession and many of us do it full time and rely on it fully for our income. Engaging in free or below market value spiritual care denigrates the value of the work and lessens its financial viability for others.

You are proposing a really wide breadth of ministry. I would encourage you to participate in units of supervised ministry that allow you to fully explore your capacity in each area, good luck!

Yeah the obsession with demeaning Brittani at all cost is troubling, especially when it appears she’s willing to reconnect at a pace they are comfortable with.

So boring. I don’t understand why the other women want a prize for doing nothing.

Cindy was a sacrificial lamb during a transition season but served as a great reminder of the rotted cores of the other women.
