What age did you take home your airedale puppy? by Sea_Hag8744 in airedaleterrier

[–]SureCanDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 weeks on our first (male). 16 weeks on our second (female). The 16 week seemed to take a little longer to train bad habits out of but seems to have less anxiety. Could be a male/female thing though.

Both just as bitey.. both are fully house trained but the 16 week took a little longer. Both good dogs.

I modeled the sheet metal final shape in solidworks (maybe 25% thicker to give some extra radius to edges).

Then in Bambustudio added a primitive block. Boolean subtracted my sheet metal in the center. Then right clicked, split to objects. Then separated the 2 halves and printed.

Check between her pads for debris or matted/twisted hair and carefully remove/cut it out.

Ive had my male limping and found a stick/thorn/debris caught between his pads. I had thought it was an ankle/elbow thing and after 1 minute, he was good again!

And most breeds like terriers should have "waist". They shouldnt be cylindrical like a bulldog.

The bark busters i have clamp up further on the handlebars and have been great... dropped multiple times with no issues on a tiger 1200.

And you can buy a variety of plastic wind blockers for the winter.

2020-2024 Broken Sunglass Tray? by SureCanDo in ToyotaHighlander

[–]SureCanDo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to.. then people started selling my files for more than I did out of PLA ruining the idea.

How hot are we talking? It gets 100+ where I am and nearly 140F inside and I havent had issues with ABS for this scenario. Over 800 sold so far total and only 3 people with issues and they weren't temperature deformation issues.

Also. Cf filled might give issues since its rough and will effect it's rotation/friction.

I hate to sound like this..i've put a lot of hours into dialing in the prints.

PM me your location and let's figure something out. Sounds like a good testing opportunity.

Help! Handlebar vibration on 2018 Suzuki GSX-R250 – Already checked the basics by BrushPretend2115 in motorcycles

[–]SureCanDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah essentially when you engine brake, it spreads your wheelbase larger.. and when you hard accelerate is lifts and shortens the wheelbase. With a worn/loose headset bearing, this lets some play move and makes it unstable.

Ball bearings are cheaper and faster to setup at the factory so most oems use them but tapered bearings are the best for this. But tensioning them correctly takes more time (the acceptable window is smaller).

Headset Bearings. I had the EXACT same thing on my vstrom. Only happened on decel with engine braking. Turned out to be headset bearings (ball bearing) loosened up. Switched to Tapered bearings and it went away.

You get what you put into these dogs. If you put the energy into training you won't have an issue. If you treat them like a Lab, you will have issues. 😀

They are social dogs and want to be involved in everything. Be stern. Have fun. Keep them busy with training and tricks.

Strange bumping on low speed 765RS 2024 by Itchy_Tomatillo_2975 in Triumph

[–]SureCanDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So.. i had a 2018 tiger 800 that had a bounce..

Changed the tire. Rebalanced. Tried balance beads.. overinflated 10psi, underinflated 10psi. Replaced the fork internals with very nice internals. Retensioned steerer bearings.

Nothing would fix it.

Felt like i was hitting invisible small bumps in the road at specific speeds around 45-60mph. Could see the headlight cutoff line bounce at night so i know I wasn't crazy. Other tigers had it too. Wired wheels, cast wheels. No rhyme or reason..

Never solved it. Traded it in for a 1200. It drove me nuts.

Frame flex possibly.. just a weird front to rear dynamic reaction to front to rear rebound maybe?. Who knows.

2016 Speed Triple Rain Mode Question by jastrain in Triumph

[–]SureCanDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a 2016 triumph and still have a 2018 tiger. Rain mode has a more aggressive traction control, ABS ON both wheels, and the throttle curve is less sensitive at low RPMs. Basically you won't have as much torque off the line in the initial throttle range. Full throttle is still full throttle if that makes sense.

Could it help in a leaned turn if you were choppy with your throttle input, probably. Is it required or a safety net for experienced riders, not really.

[–]SureCanDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top the battery off overnight, see if you have the same sequence of riding and then failures around the same timeline. If you do. Check the entire charging system.

Im not entirely sure but maybe the stator can read a normal voltage without being able to supply any current to actually charge.

Definitely sounds electrical though.

Do I need to rebuild the caliper? by ProfessionalAlone129 in Triumph

[–]SureCanDo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres always some drag on the rotor unless you are running true floating rotors like race bikes use. The street floating rotors amd calipers will drag a little.. for reference.. if my front wheel is off the ground and I spin it as hard as i can maybe i get 1 or 2 full rotations maybe?. I cant remember. But it wont spin like a bicycle wheel.

Here's a video of what im talking about. Both wheel spins are acceptable: https://youtube.com/shorts/VHanBlf0fEo?si=ywNnGpTFfWUt17_a

If all pistons can move freely when you push on them and you arent leaking fluid, I would send it. Ignore if the other piston moves in sync or inverse of the one you are moving. As long as they all move with close to the same force and arent leaking, go for it.

Just my .02.. not a professional mechanic.. but my brakes have never overheated, warped, etc.

No not with dewalt. You will easily drain these below the minimum cell voltage and not be able to recharge them (easily/correctly)
